Where your first date was: Jillian's - we hung out at the bar and wehn we decided we wanted to get to know each other more, we had dinner.
How long after meeting did he propose: We talked about it after about 3 months but the actual proposal happened 1yr 7 months after we met.
When did you/are you getting married: March 11th, 2006 - 3 year ann of our 2nd date

We met on Match.com but Ironically my sister knew him. She had met him 5 years earlier and wanted us to meet but it didn't happen until we both went on line. We got engaged after 4 months and are getting married 10/22/05!

It's amazing...it just wasn't meant to be 5 years earlier... Isn't it so weird the way things work out like that...

Okay... February 1996 we met on Prodigy in a chat room... I was a senior in high school and it was my first night of winter break... unfortunately, it was snowing like a blizzard outside so I sat online all night... We started talking in the chat room once we realized we lived near each other... After chatting online for hours we exchanged beeper numbers (haha!)... He beeped me the next day but I was on the phone and didn't call back right away. He must have beeped me like 3-4 times more and I almost didn't call him back! Once I finally did, we talked for about an hour... the first time we met was while he was working at Sears, and I had two friends with me... later that week he brought a friend to Fun Zone, where I worked... Eventually we started hanging out with our friends all together... I had actually wanted to set him up with another one of my friends!!
By April I realized that I had feelings for him and was looking forward to seeing him one day... about three days later he asked me out and the rest is history!!
Our first 'date' was at the Vanderbuilt Planetarium, we went to a laser light show to the music of Nirvana.
We were together about 7 1/2 years when we got engaged, and will be together just over 9 1/2 when we get married on November 18!! We waited a long time cuz we were young when we met, and needed to be financially stable to get married!!

We met: on Matchmaker.com. He 'emailed' me first and we IM'd e/o for a while & then decided to meet after a week or so.
First date: Uncle Jack's steakhouse on Bell Blvd. (although I refused to have dinner w/ him there b/c at that point I wasn't sure we'd be having a 2nd date & I'd feel bad if he spent all that $, so we went to Uno's down the block for dinner).
He proposed technically: 2 1/2 years later, however, we had broken up for almost a year, so we were going out about a year & a half.
Getting married July 15, 2006. We're currently living together.

We dated from March 99. Were talking of getting married but put it off after 9/11. Finally he popped the question in 2003, June 28. We booked our hall, bought my dress and booked most vendors before August of 2003. We then just eloped at City Hall on 10/23/03 and had our wedding for our First Anniversary.

We DIDN'T meet online but I tried both jdate and match.com and had a ball meeting people. I am actually still friends w/ another girl that I met in jdate's chat room!!! She met her fiance there and her wedding is a week after mine. I actually feel weird thinking that I will never go on a 'jdate' again.
Sorry if this is considered a hijacking of this thread. Anyway--I would love to see the profiles of people who met online (whattheir ads said and what the pictures looked like. That would be fun!

How you met: we were acquaintances for about 6-7 years b/c our summer share houses were near one another. I just thought of him as a nice, fun guy.
Where your first date was: Vermont! I contacted him during the winter because a friend of mine was interested in joining his summer house. We got to talking. I needed to get away and he needed a date for a ski retreat that his company was sending everyone on. I figured I was safe going away with a guy that I had known all those years and never made a move before!!!!
How long after meeting did he propose: It was several years after the first time we met but it was about 1 yr and 9mos from when we started to date.

We had a group meeting at Jillian's in 9/01 then we winded up a month later going out on our official date.
Got engaged 7 months later, 5/02
married 2 years after that, 7/04.
Now we are married over a year.
