crashing! who hyphened their last name? and if you did how many letters is it now? mine would be 18......

i did not .... but DH's last name is 9 letters long, and mine is 8 ... so if i did hyphenate, it'd be 17 total (or 18 if you count the dash)

Not legally - but I do it at work - too much of a hassle. All together is is 15 letters.
Legally it's just DH's

how do you still do it at work? work told me it's either FH's, my maiden or hypenated. they said with taxes it has to match whatver is on my social security card.

I see patients regularly and I didn't want to confuse them so I just hyphenate, use my old name. I still haven't technically changed it with HR but I did with SS
You can cell yourself whatever you want at work - but legally it has to be what you changed it to

nope, but I have been calling all my clients and telling them I'm Wendy R--- a/ k/a Wendy C...because I'm still transitioning to my new name!
