Who is everyone using for Photography?

I need photography help! I have been to 6 and can't decide
Who are you using and about how much??
I am thinking of going wiht a digital album!

DUET only does digital????

Duet shoots the wedding in film(not sure if they can shoot in digital), their album is more of a digital look because the images are printed on the pages of the book- likes children's books. They ususally don't do a 'drop in' style where the picture slides into frames on the pages except for the parents books.

There are a lot of benefits of digital. First, the photographer sees the shot he takes right after he takes it. This allows the photographer to know whether your eyes are shut, etc. With film, you don't know until the film is developed.

Digital film allows them to turn anything into black and white and it enables them to remove exit signs or anything else that should not be in the picture.

Digital pictures are downloaded at the wedding and immediately backed up. That way you have no chance of losing them. With film, you might have bad film or the film can get damaged during the development process.

Because of these reasons, we went with digital.

We're using B rett M atthews. Their pics are incredible! FM if you want pricing info.

UPDATED: We used BM and would NOT recommend them.

DUET. Their work is great and their prices are very reasonable. I actually asked Eric about film vs. digital. He said they shoot 40% in film (25% in b & w and 15% in color) and 60% digital.

Not there yet but for the ones who have booked a photographer,what us the average cost of one? Im working on settling what budget I will need for 2006.
I already know of Patken and what they run around(my sister used them).
Am I looking at 6k and under for a photographer/videographer? Im not trying to cheat out on that expense since it is important to get the best on your special day. I just want to see what is in store for me and FI.

I used Laurie Studio and cound not have been happier with Ken. They were excellent to deal with and my pictures came out unbelieveable

We're using Photos of the Heart in Mt. Sinai - they're wonderful to work with, and their pics that we saw are great! My friend used Patken and the pics were also great! But they did a less traditional style, and more arty-looking shots, which she loved. I think you can find a great photographer for under $6000 - but if you want more of the 'artist' look, you'll spend more. It all depends on your taste and budget. Our photographer fits us perfectly. You'll find one for you - keep looking! PS- If you haven't met with Photos of the Heart yet, I suggest you do. The photographer takes the time to explain exactly what you should be looking for, without trying to sell you on his stuff, so even if you don't book with them, you'll have a means to compare. I liked duet when we met with them, but I wanted a regular album (not digital)... so we went with Duval. They are SOOOOOOOOO friendly and warm! (friend used them and was VERY happy with them). And they work with their prices.
