What is your reason for not having a surprise shower because everyone thinks i'm so weird?!?! I hate surprises!

I am. I live on LI, but my showers will be in MD, I'll have two, one for friends, one for family, so I have to know to be there, and I need to plan ahead for them. If FH's family throws one for me in NY, that will be a surprise.

Mine wasn't a surprise. I made the invitations, mailed them out and choose the place. It's not that I couldn't hand over control, it's just that my mom was super overwhelmed with wedding planning and I didn't have bridesmaids so I did it myself.
The only thing that was a surprise were the games played during the shower.

I planned my own shower! I picked the place, date, decor, sent out the invites, games, favors, etc. Everyone thinks im nuts but I'd rather plan something thats for ME that I KNOW I will like! My friends know I'm really weird about certain things so they just let me do what I wanted.

I always find out!!! Plus I might wnt to help LMFAO.. is that bad? My moms like real old school and she'd probally l have like dixie plates, steal some Mc Donalds Napkins and what not..LOL So yeah I might have to give her some hints.. I 'll try not to make them obvious

Mine is supposed to be a surprise, but it has been killing me so I have been slowly trying to ruin it. I always thought I liked surprises, but apparently, I cannot handle them.

Im helping my mom single out some places, i'll probably order my own invites because i have seen some really cute ones from different websites. My mom is semi old school so she would have something really old fashioned and i dont want tthat at all lol

I'm not having a surprise because it's impossible to surprise me. I always know. I saw FH coming a MILE away, friends through a going away party for me once and I accidentally found out about it, most of FH's gifts I've found out about because I just happen upon things.
I figured I would just spare everyone the disappointment and stress of me finding out. I only know the date and time though - everything else is under wraps like location and theme and all that.

i want mine to be a complete surprise. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but imo, people who are close to you really want to do something special to prepare you for your big day, and your new life. And I don't want to take that away from them. if I find out, I find out. That's life. But hopefully, it will be a complete surprise. I'm sure it will be!

My shower was 3 weeks ago. I had to know about it because of my job schedule. The only thing I knew was the date. I was very surprised by the location and I could barely speak when I walked in so I think that even if you know about it , it doesn't lose its 'wow' factor completely. Plus I was able to pick out an amazing outfit for it lol!

non surprise shower girl here! we are having a jack and jill shower... men and women will be invited... it'll be more like an outdoor bbq over the summer!

mine probably won't be a surprise....my mom is a diabetic and she lost sight in one of her eyes and can't get surgery until the end of february
so anyway let's just say she's a little overwhelmed and feeling helpless that she can't drive so i've been helping her so it won't be a surprise for me, honestly i probably would've found out anyway

Mine isn't a surprise. I know the date but not the details. My mother lives OOT and shes going to be here for 5 days....there is no way she was going to hide from me for 5 days...also I am not the kind of person to be giving an outfit to someone to hold and if I showed up in sweats that's how I would stay.
