So i know it's traditionally the grooms parents but in our case, the Groom's family is all from OOT and we are doing a welcome party/RD...so my parent's are hosting......I dont think my FH's parents even know about this tradition...
just curious who's hosting your RD?

FIL's will be hosting the RD. We actually (sorta) finalized the guest list for the it and picked a place.

well we asked FFIL how much he could put in, and we told him how much it would cost (we picked the place)... I think he's going to cover most of it, and whatever he doesn't parents or us will cover the rest.

my FILs are doing it but it might just be like pizza at their house. as long as FH and I dont have to do it, and my parents don't have to either, then i'm happy

I know that is the usual feel of a RD, but I really want to do something with atleast the bridal party and immediate family. I will see as it gets closer.

Fh and I are paying for the wedding,
My dad asked if he could pay for the RD and FIL's were ok with that. So my Dad is paying.
FFIL is paying for our hotel for the 3 nights we need it.
FMIL is paying for our cruise.
They all come out to be about the same cost.

my FSIL is being kind enough to host my bridal shower which i am uber excited about
We wont have much a RD, probably a low key pizza party or Chinese takeout, just to relax and hangout before the big day. nothing fancy.

FMIL wanted to, but wouldn't listen to me and my concerns over gluten cross contamination (my sister is very VERY intolerant of gluten- one dose of cross contamination, and she would be on the toilet for days).
So FH and I are hosting!
FMIL was then going to host the Shower, but flaked on that, as well.
