Is anyone? Is it a must? A lot of other people in my department have invited our boss to their weddings, but I'm getting married out of the country.
Just curious what everyone else is planning!

I am starting a new job in May....so i will have a year of being at the job....assuming my boss doesnt make my skin crawl every time i see him/her..i will!!! hahaha..otherwise..i dont think its NECESSAY...but a nice gesture.. i will also be living in PA and wedidng on LI...so i doubt a boss would come..BUT i wouldnt want to take that chance if i didnt like my boss!

My boss is very good to his employees, of course he has his moments, but on the whole he is nice and we get along pretty well. I dont want to send him an invite and him think oh, she's just trying to get a gift out of me because she should know there's no way I'm going abroad for her wedding...

I invited my boss to my wedding. And it was out of state (she is here in MO). She came and made a weekend trip out of it. I was only working for her less than a year at the time but I really get along well with her.

I work for a very (very) small family owned company (I'm the only one not family) so I invited my boss (the owner) and the 2 guys I work with in the office (the owners Unlce and the owners BIL) and they're all coming. I've also worked here for 7 years now and they're like an 'extended' family of sorts, so I thought it would look bad NOT to invite them.
It really depends on the situation, the amount of people you're inviting, the location, how long you've worked there, how well you know them, etc. Do what feels comfortable for YOU!

Definitely! I love my Principal aka boss! But I don't know if she will come. She's a nun. My mom and BP are inviting her and other co-workers who are also sisters, to my shower too! But that might be a little awkward if I'm opening up some risque gifts!

I've been at three different companies in the year of '04 and am inviting all three of my bosses....they usually give you a fantastic gift (LOL)

I invited all three of the attorneys that I work for. 2 out of 3 came with their SO.

i am will he come? i don't know only because he lives in NJ and im having the wedding in LI so i really do not expect him to travel only a boss not fam lolol

I work for a very small company, less than 10 employees including the boss and his wife who works with us as well. I invited everyone but was tempted to send Boss mans invite as 'and guest' cause I hate his wife but I was nice and sent it the correct way.

Yes I am I have been working with her for about 5 years and we get along good. I think she would feel bad if I did not invite her.

I am. I work for a small firm and have known him and my co-workers for a long time so everyone from work will be invited. At my previous company, I would've invited my boss and my teammates.

I will be. My small department has 6 people including myself so I will be inviting them all (as long as they are here then of course). I've worked here and with 3 of them for 7 years and the newest hire was over a year ago so it just makes sense for me to.

I am probably going to invite my boss. If I'm at the job I'm at now by the time my wedding rolls around then I'll def invite her. She's great, but I don't think it is necessary.

I was planning on inviting my principal, but I just got hired in another school district. So I won't be return to this school in the fall, my wedding is in August, so I don't know if I should still invite her or not
