Who is NOT having an e-party and/or shower and/or Bachlorette party?

I am having a shower, but we didn't have an e-party or a bach. party. Everything was a little 'rushed' and it would have been too much for us. Besided, we didn't have the $$$ for it anyway. Honestly, it doesn't bother me.. the closer the wedding gets, the less I care about what I may have missed along the way.

Me and FH decided not to do a big formal engagement party. I am definitely having a bachelorette party and shower though...my bridal party and mom insist...and I'm not complaining!!

We didn't have an engagement party. I had a bridal shower and will have a bachelorette party.

We didn't have an engagemnet party, either. It just didn't matter that much to us.

I had a shower and bachlorette party, though. I'm wondering why you don't think you'll have those parties, your wedding is still far off. I'm sure someone will want to throw a shower or bachlorette.

Well honestly we did take my father, mother, siblings and my MOH out to dinner that night I told them I was engaged..

But my parents had their car stolen that morning.. Not exactly a happy occassion.



MOH is in Texas and tight on cash.. So I'm not expecting a Bach party.

Shower? What shower. No one here to throw one for me. I might have a little one at the office that sorta thing but nothing with friends or family.

You guys should count yourselves lucky. I grew up military. I have really no 'long time' friends. Those I do are in other states and count under five in total.

Each is precious to me, but we are distant in miles and communication.

*Sigh*

I'm ok with not having them, but hearing you guys talk sometimes makes me envious!

We had an E-party, though it was a surprise to us! I didn't have a shower or Bachorlette party though. I live out of state so it's difficult. But since I'm pregnant, someone better be throwing me a Baby Shower!!!!

After high school I lost touch with everyone (not necesserally a bad thing), and went out of state to finish college. I don't live in hometown, so now there's not much chance of running into old buddies.

I did not want an e-party, but FH did, so I had fun planning a party . Nothing crazy, just those dear to us to come together and celebrate with us.

Who knows about shower/b-party. my MOH is across the US, I only have 2 BM (FHs sisters). they had showers so I am sure they will help organize one. But I don't have many from my side to celebrate with me. I can sympathise.

No engagement party here> the only thing I am having is my close friends total of 8 people are going out for dinner. I dont have that many friends and any relatives (female ) I am having at the wedding I hardly know so to keep costs down and to make it easy on my MOH and 1 BM I decided I much rather just have a nice dinner instead of a shower or bachlerette party

Didnt have engagement party, will definately have shower - not sure about bach party. My BM all live out of state and two out of three have kids.

I'll probably go out with my FH at and have a few drinks with my old roomies (irish) who I lived with before I got engaged.

That's always a hoot, especially since one is a bartender!

xelindrya..I grew up Military as well. We had to asnwer the phone Col. Scotts residence, Alicia Speaking..we moved everywhere. I know what ya mean about the shower..so many of my close friends are out of state, they will make it for the wedding but cant make it for the shower. Its juts too expensive. We didnt have an engagement party..we did get gifts though from quite a few people, actually my parents had a very small party when we went to visit them in Oklahoma. I am having a shower, but probably no more than 20 people will be able to make it. As for teh bachelorette party..my fiance actually said HE didnt wnat one. I was shocked..he said why should he go hang out with just the guys when he never does that now..so we figured we'll have a dual party, my girlfriends and his guy friends and we'll all just hang out. I already told his guy friends Id jump out of his cake!! hahaha
Dont stress about this..I know its hard when people are having these big elaborate e parties..it kind of bums me out that we didnt have one..but teh whole point of getting engaged is to get married, and you'll be doing that soon enough!!!
You said you grew up military..where all did you live? I lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Munich Germany, and Seattle, kept going BACK to Oklahoma everytime. How about you?

I only had a shower. I didn't want an engagement party and we didn't have time for a bachelorette party. If I really wanted a bachelorette party, we would've gone to a Yankee game.

....Lived there for while always wondering why children didnt play on 'that' side of the fence (later found out that place was loaded with land mines)
....Moved back to Texas Beville
....Moved to Norfolk, Va (dad was on the Enterprise)
....Moved to N.A.S. Lamoore, Calf. (dad was on the Kitty Hawk)
....Moved BACK to Texas.. Houston ..Mom joined the Army..(she moved to Germany we wallowed in Houston Humidity)

She divorced him and dumped us the kids like bad news.. (blah, blah, blah.. drama)

I ended up back in San Antonio at 12 .. Moved to New York on a whim in 99..

Other junk in the middle.. but that's a short and ugly of my life.

NO engagement party. FI didn't want one.

I think i will be having a bridal shower, though I have a VERY small family and lost touch with lots of friends, so I don't have too many to invite. I don't want the party to be pathetic, with only 10 people so I may opt not to have a party at all.

Definately a batchelorette party, though! Even with 10 people that is fun!

I am with you guys Xelindrya and jenny2penny. I would read the posts of all people's friends and feel really bad. If I end up having one its because my mom will plan one for me ( I need her to do something or else she feels left out). My MOH is my cousin. My friends BM I don't think will have time to do anything for me.

We didn't have an e-party. I know they are planning a shower for me but we only have about 25 peole to invite. As for my bachelorette party: I would love to go to Atlantic City and gamble all night. But, I don't know if everyone can afford it. We'll have to see.
