Who is paying for your wedding

I wish we had help. But it's just the two of us paying for our special day!!!!

We are as well as his parents. My mom cannot help financially and would never ask her to!

it changes frequently which is whats making it so stressful - it was totally us - then my parents decided they would pay for the entire thing - then it became they'd pay 75% and we'd chip in a bit - now we're paying 75%

we're 22 and just graduated from college so its very hard - we don't mind paying for it ourselves, we actually prefer it, and its so nice my parents are helping - but the stressful part is that everything keeps changing so FH and I made a budget and saved money and then things kept getting added and now we don't have the money and our budget is all out of control. It's also annoying b/c decisions were made to make my parents happy and then we ended up paying for the things that we didnt want but originally said 'well since their paying for it we'll do it'

FH parents have offered to help and are helping with what they can but money is very tight for them - but FMIL and FSIL have helped so much for creative ideas/ planning/ organizing/ and making different wedding related things.

my parents are paying for the reception, we are paying for dj, photographer, flowers and all that stuff, his parents are chipping in on whatever is left that needs it.

But his mom is making the CP's for us and giving the rehersal dinner. Everything else is us!!!!

my Dad is paying for the hall. (the whole bill)

We're paying for everything else, including the honeymoon.

My parents are paying for the reception, and we are paying for all of the vendors....his parents have not said A WORD about whether or not they will be helping out...I guess if they do it will be 'found' money.

Matt and I are very lucky bc my parents are pretty much footing the bill for our wedding. THANK GOD!!

my parents are paying for the hall. me and FH everything else. FH family paid for our engagement BBQ.

My FIL's kicked in an amt of $ towards our wedding here, and the rest we are paying for ourselves. My parents are paying for our wedding overseas...

I would say:
70% us
10% My parents
10% His mom
10% His godparents
Still toughthough...hence the 2 year engagement

FH and I are paying. FH's parents are paying for the photographer, which is a huge help.

That sounds like what I would have said.

His Mom did give us our band deposit though, which was nice b/c it was 1 less deposit we would have had to pay.

My parents- Reception, dress and accessories, limo,DJ, and maybe some more stuff.

His parents- flowers, photo, and video.

Us- Everything else.

That was US until recently. I told my mother that FH and I would contribute and save as much as we could. I refused to ask FH's family for money. They know my family's situation. They know my mother is elderly as well as disabled and needs to carry on with her life AFTER the wedding. I told Mom that when and if they offer ANY sum of money, that she should accept it graciously no matter how much or how little it is. They just yesterday made an ovation to contribute. I told FH that since all but the florist is booked, that his mother should offer the money towards the catering bill. I do not want my FMIL choosing how I decorate my wedding. Aesthetics are all about the bride and no one else. Thats the one thing I begged FH to stay out of. He complied. Good boy!
