Who is throwing your shower?

I always thought the tradition was that the bridesmaids throw the shower- anyone know differently?

to be honest with you, no one in my family can afford to throw the shower so i think i'll end up doing it. im a little bummed but i feel it might be fun

My mom is throwing my shower and my MOH and FMIL will be helping her!

My mom will be the main person throwing it (and paying for it, I'm sure), but I'm sure my BMs will be big contributors to the plans.

Same here. I've heard that the mom isn't supposed to throw it, but I don't think anyone goes by that anymore, especially around here, where things are so expensive. All of my BMs are 20-somethings pretty much just starting out, my mom doesn't feel right asking them to pay for the shower, especially since we have a large family and it will end up being pretty costly.
I know she is already in contact with them for ideas and stuff, though!

My sister, mother and bridesmaids, according to my MOH.

I think its way too much of a burden for one person, but it depends on everyone's individual situations.
