Hi brides! If you are using a band for your wedding reception, can you please let me know what size band (i.e. 5-piece or 8-piece) you have, approx. how much you're spending and what the name of the band is if you want to recommend them? My FI wants to get a band but we're not really sure if it's in our budget so I figured I'd come to the pros for advice. Thanks!!

we used the projekt strongly reccomend them.. i had 8 pieces but you can use anywhere from 6-9

I've thought about using a band as well and I've priced DJs in the 1500+ range and bands start in the 6000+ range so its a big leap from DJ. I haven't decided if its worth it yet.....

We are using a band. Haven't decided on one yet. We've heard Franklyn Wayne, The Project, Skyline, Code Blue (I think that's what they were called) going to check out a few more.

We are using Paris, an 8 piece band, and they are $6500
We're using Sound Image, its a Faze 4 band. Typically bands are about $1000 a person i.e. 10 piece band is about 10 grand, 6 piece about 6 grand. Thats just generally what we saw when looking for bands.

We are using Code Bleu. They are an 8 piece band but you can add two additional musicians (a singer and trumpet player) for more. We added the trumpet player. Price depends on how many musicians you want and if you need ceremony as well as CH and RH.

we're using Soul Street -- 11 pieces
Price also depends on what is included. Ours includes pianist before ceremony, piano and flute for ceremony, jazz trio for CH and full band for 4 hours.

6 piece- we paid about $2800.00 that was a big discount though since we were a winter wedding in the afternoon.
Look them up though... they are fantastic! i booked them again to play for another family function.

we are using hot pursuit...I think it's 9 pieces...They are AWESOME!!! for 2 people for the ch and 9 pieces for the wedding....I think we're paying around 6900 I would defintely check them out!

We are using Code Bleu too -- have only heard good things so far, and they seem really nice and easy going. They are going to learn our first dance for us, and are quick at returning phone calls and e-mails. They also sound really good on their sample CD, and my parents were blown away by their showcase. That's all I can really give my opinion on for the next 31 days

we went with a DJ but the Mystic was the best band I've ever heard. I used to work weddings all the time & they really stood out I think theirr web site is mysticmusic.com?? I have to look it up
