who is using a band for music?

Hi brides! If you are using a band for your wedding reception, can you please let me know what size band (i.e. 5-piece or 8-piece) you have, approx. how much you're spending and what the name of the band is if you want to recommend them? My FI wants to get a band but we're not really sure if it's in our budget so I figured I'd come to the pros for advice. Thanks!!

The best band by far is Vali Music..i went to a wedding with them and it was incredible. The prices really go from low to high. I am still not sure if we are having them...but give them a looksie

I booked Vali Music, I think Crosstown Mix. They have four different bands. You can have from 5 pieces to 55 pieces! They don't really start 'low' though. We got a little bit of a discount for paying cash and because I am a winter wedding. FM me for details if you want.

We used Code Bleu and they were A-MAZING! Continour music throughout the entire reception, no breaks and all their pieces are multi-talented! All the instrumentals can sing!!!! You can do 8-10 pieces for 6500-7500. Best money spent by far...everyone lovvvved them!!!

We used Body and Soul. Everyone loved them. They are a vendor on here.

We used the Kenny Ford band from Hank Lane and they were AMAZING!!! We only had 6 people, I think, bc they were pretty expensive, but they sounded phenomenal, people still talk about them a year later. We paid close to 8,000, but that included CH and VH also (total was 6 hours). HTH

We are using Code Bleu. They are an 8 piece band but you can add two additional musicians (a singer and trumpet player) for more. We added the trumpet player. Price depends on how many musicians you want and if you need ceremony as well as CH and RH.

We're using code bleu as well, with the extra players.

we went with a DJ but the Mystic was the best band I've ever heard. I used to work weddings all the time & they really stood out I think theirr web site is mysticmusic.com?? I have to look it up

We're using Heart & Soul (A Franklin Wayne Band) - 8 pieces. They are also $6500 and so amazing!!! I can't wait.

Not using a band, but the best I've seen are at least 6 pieces. Ideally, there are at least two singers, to cover everything. I personally would need to have a male and female lead singer, so that the guy sings guy tunes, the girl sings girl tunes, and the duets are covered. The other singer can harmonize the lead if they're not lead vocals. Beyond that, I'd want:

Drummer
Keyboard
Bassist
Lead Guitar
Rhythm Guitar
Percussion

I guess that's 8!!!

Forgot one on my first attempt!

I had The Mystic and they are amazing!!! Actually, the guartist in The Mystic who played at our wedding is playing with Billy Joel at Shea Today and did play in Thursday as well...

They are simply amazing and you can see them at Freeport (Hudson and McCoy) every thursday night....They honestly were the BEST Vendor to work with and youwill defintely not be disappointed! I promise. LOVE LOVE THEM!

We went to hear them play last year at Hudson and McCoy and thought they were amazing. But it is still so comforting to hear from others who have used them.
