I planned on just my father giving me away, although it seems as though more and more brides are opting for both of their parents give them away by walking them down the aisle. SO I may have my mom and dad walk me down. But I am still contemplating it. Although suring the ceremony if I only pick my dad then he will say 'her mother and I do'.

My daddy...it is supposed to be my mother and father cuz I'm jewish, but I'm closer to my step mom and I don't want to create waves....

I wish sometimes I was walking alone... with parents both--- only to the halfway mark though.

My two brothers - since my dad passed away 4 yrs ago, they have really stepped up and assumed the father-figure roles. (they are alot older than me).

Just me and Dad. I have dreamed of it my whole life. He's had health issues, but he's still here so its Dad.
If it weren't Dad, I'd go solo.

My Daddy. I haven't seen my mother since I was three but, if she was still around and we were close, I would do both. I think that's nice.

My father but he did not know what to do after that. He froze and did not know when to let go and/or he did not know what happens after walking down the aisle upon reaching the altar. Idiot father!

I wanted my mother and father to walk me down half way and then for me to walk myself alone the rest of the way but I have a feeling I may hurt their feeling and I would never want to do that espically since they are looking foward to it. So they both will walk me the entire way. As a compromise I may ask that the priest not ask 'who gives this woman to be married to this man' (although it is tradition I never liked that part--the whole implication of possesion)

I have a wierd situation. My brother will walk me down but my father and step-father will be walking right in front of me and my brother. I could not decide between the 2 dads and my brother is not really in the wedding party so I decided my brother will take my arm and walk me down but the 2 dads will be a few steps in front of me. Strange, I know

I am having both my dad and stepdad walk me down the aisle since they were both fathers to me. I am also dancing with my mom at the wedding instead of father/daughter etc. Everyone has such unique situations..good that we can all do whatever works for each person!

I really want to go down alone.. but I dont know how my father would react (or the rest of my family).. I only see dad 1 or 2 times per year -- he's not very fatherlike.. but I think he still might want to do it and might be offended if I say I want to go alone.
For those of you that are doing the halfway down.. what does the person that are giving you away do? Just stop right there? When does he go to his seat? Is the seat up front and they walk behind you?

I am not sure either i am not close with my dad . I often think that he may change between now and next year but i don't think that will happen. I am close with my cousins husband, my brother died a few years ago so he is like my new big bro
