I don't know what to do, I just asked my Uncle, who is also my godfather, and he put up such a big fuss about it saying he didn't like to do that kind of thing, i'm so hurt/annoyed by it, and now i don't know who to ask

Re: Who is walking your Mom down the aisle...
My Nephew walked my Mom down the aisle. He is the only Grandson. Is there anyone who is special to your Mom who she would like to have. A friend or relative?

I had my godfather walk my mother down the aisle. He walked my grandmother down the aisle when my parents got married so my mom wanted him to walk her down when I got married.

I had my mom and dad walk me down the aisle. That solved that problem! Honestly, I am so glad they both walked me down--I love them both and am so glad my mom was there to support me and give me away down the aisle.

I'm having both of my parents walk me down the aisle also. I wouldn't have it any other way!

FH's stepson (20 yrs old) will be escorting both moms to their seats (one at a time) right before the procession.

Gosh, I hadn't even thought of this. I'll probably ask my brother-in-law. She likes him, and she's closer to him than a couple of my male cousins.

My dad is walking me down half way,,and then my mom will walk with us the rest.
My church has a pretty long aisle..
My dad and I are really really close. I love him like no other.....and even though I am his only daughter..I didnt want my mom to feel left out since we are also VERY close.

That's what we did with my BIL and my Mom! It as wonderful. He sat down and my Mom walked me the rest of the way. They each had their own special part.
Thinking back to my sisters weddings. My Mother was just walked down the aisle by the groomsmen she was closest too.

Either my cousin (mom's godchild, who, btw, hasn't responded!!!) or my uncle.

I think my dad told me that traditionally the Best Man walks the bride's mom. Not sure how crazy I am about that idea, but it's something to think about.....

Re: Who is walking your Mom down the aisle...
I'm having the groomsman my mom is closest to walk her down the aisle. I've been thinking lately about how unfair it seems for the moms... the dads get to walk the brides down the aisle AND get the dance. I'm really close to my mom, so I feel bad. I'd like to have her walk with my dad and I down the aisle, but the way I have things set up, once she gets seated, she will go up with FI's mom to light the tapers in the unity candle before the bridal party comes in.

Re: Who is walking your Mom down the aisle...
Since I am walking down the aisle alone, my parents can walk next to each other (they are divorced). I'm not close to my father at all and I don't feel I need to be 'given' away since I've done things on my own for such a long time.

Re: Who is walking your Mom down the aisle...
I am walking down with both my parents...my parents are divorced and even though I feel I still want to be traditional and have my dad walk me down the aisle...my mom is the one who's been there for us through the years so I want her to be part of giving me away too. Otherwise I would either have her walk down with the groomsmen she is closest to. I asked my mom who she wanted to walk into the reception with since my dad is remarried. Maybe give her the choice of who she would feel most comfortable with.
