Re: Who is your DJ?
To start off go to bridal showcases and hear different DJs perform. You'll get an idea for how they work and the atmosphere in the room will show you how they'll be at your wedding. You want to find a DJ that will mesh well with your/FH's personalities. What kind of a reception are you having? Do you want it to be elegant and sophisticated or a happening part-ay??
I'm using LI Sound DJ, they're just what I was looking for. HTH!!

Vinny from High Voltage Sounds! To find a dj I would suggest first looking at the list of vendors on this website.. Also, take people's recommendations.

Re: Who is your DJ?
We used 'Dash of Class' our MC was Mike LoBasso who was excellent...he also did Al Bandiro's wedding from KTU.
Also, he will turn your wedding into whatever you want. I was VERY pleased with them and EVERYONE was on the dance floor, it was GREAT!!!
FM if you have any questions.

I also booked FM entertainment. There where a few brides that said Frank was great. I went and met with him. He did a mini show to show me how he will sound the day of the wedding. He was great I booked him on the spot.

Entertainment Express
They are a family friend so I knew I was going to use them. But definitely go to expos and ask for sample cds to help you get started.

I have NO idea how to get a DJ.
Any starting off tips?
omg...i just re-read your post..you asked for tips, not DJs....oops. if there are any bridal shows anywhere, attend one...DJs tend to hit these up. go through the 'brides review' section and FM those brides already married, when you narrow it down, we can help with ?s to ask them. actually, a great person to ask for ?s is MJDOC12. send her an FM....she tends to have AMAZING lists of ?s to ask vendors. ok, i'll stop rambling.

Re: Who is your DJ?
I'm using ESUDJ... I have seen them in action at almost every wedding ,sweet sixteen, quinceanera, etc that I have been to in the past few years, most of my friends use Rob's services (owner)... they mainly do the city and Westchester county....but they will go anywhere! Their office is in Throggs Neck.
