I've noticed that many of you ladies are getting married in church. I feel like I'm the only one getting married at the RH. Is anyone else getting married at the RH?

i did! my dad was a little upset, but we're not religious, so it really didn't matter to him. he probably would have just preferred a church. DH's parents are religious, but they didn't mind at all, and we were shocked by that. but they felt it was our wedding, we should do it how we wanted to. and they're pretty old school, so we were very pleasantly surprised by their reaction.
My grandparents and FH's mother seem to be the only ones angry about it.
Do you plan on having a church wedding on your 1st anniversary?
not at all! we're not religious, so we don't feel the need to get married in a church.
Ah. FH isn't too religious, but he still calls himself a Catholic. I'm pagan, so my faith is a bit more private.

Re: Who isn't getting married at the church/temple?
We got married at the RH, and it was PERFECT!
I loved that my guests didn't have to figure out what to do for 3+ hours between the ceremony & reception.
We had an interfaith ceremony, officiated by a Rabbi and a Priest. The RH was neutral ground
And I guess we were lucky, we didn't get any flack from anyone ... most likely because of the interfaith factor, where else would we have it?

Re: Who isn't getting married at the church/temple?
We're having our ceremony at our RH, and to add fuel to that whole fire, my lil sister is getting ordained on line so she can perform the ceremony. Thank God my parents nor FH's parents are very religous. So far we haven't gotten any flack about it but my people know me, and if someone said something against my plans I would have NO problem telling them what to do with thier opinion. Everyone knows I can be a little bit of a beast with out wedding planning stress, so they tend to doubly watch what they say around me. So far all the feedback has been positive, who knows what said behind my back.

were getting married at our RH. in my opinion its easier for the guests because they go straight from the ceremony into the cocktail hour

Our close friend is getting ordained online to perform our ceremony too. One of the groomsman called our wedding a mockery so I threw something at him. As long as it's legal in New York State I am happy.

We're not getting married at a church but not at our RH..if that makes any sense. FH and I really wanted an outdoor wedding and our RH doesn't have an area for that so we had to 'outsource' lol I'm sooo happy we chose where we did b.c no going to another place for pics!
