Who knows how I would donate a car?

DH just got a new car last week. The old one is ot worth selling. But with a little work, it would be usable. Anyone know who I should call to donate it?

My DH did this 2 times. One was even a few weeks ago. He looked in the penny saver they come and pick it up. And they give you a piece of paper for your taxes.

i donated mine last year... and they wouldnt use it as a tax deduct at h&r block. look online or back of pennysaver type deal

Why NOT? My mom does Taxes for a living and also did it at H&R block. Did you have all the necessary papers?

I did it last year & my accountant didn't use it either. It seemed to work out better not to include it b/c I think you get $4000 automatically or something (if you are single).

OHHH well that makes more sense. I thought they wouldnt use it because it was against the law or something.

My dad did this a couple years back. He donated it to the Salvation Army. The car was very old but he got $600 for it.

I did this a couple years ago.
I donated to La Chaim (jewish family center).
Got about 4000 back on the taxes.

Just BE SURE that they are accredited with the IRS or you can't use the deduction.
