Just wondering if anyone is waiting till after the wedding to move in with FH? We moved in after dating 3 months & I think that was one of the best decisions. You really get to know someone. Just wondering what everyone else is doing.

We moved in together after our engagement. I still go to my mom's once a week, when FH has basketball practice

Technically, he lives at home and I live at home. But realistically, he stays at my house everynight, so ..I don't know how to answer the question. He has a room at his house and stops there everyday to check the mail and say his to his parents, but he eats dinner at my house, we sleep together and wake up together. All his clothes are at my house... I guess we kinda live together. But we're not moving out until after the wedding, we're saving $$ and moving into a house my parents own and it needs a little cosmetic work, so we have to wait until the tenants move out in April to start...

I do, we've been living together since 3 months after we started dating. But were only living in an apartment right now, he want to buy a home by september of 08

i just think that its more common for people to live together now than it was back in the day and its also more common for people to get divorced now than back in the day.....so i feel like its hard for the studies to be that accurate b/c if more people are getting divorced and more people are living together before marriage than obviously the majority of the people who divorce now lived together already....does that make any sense?? i can see both sides of the argument but i just think that they actual #'s the studies use are hard to go by.....but very interesting reads!

We moved in together in april of 2006 into my studio apt and now we share a mortgage on a home with his best friend and best friends GF. we had been together so long and the only factor keeping us from getting married sooner was $$$. nowadays its more acceptable to live together before marriage because the cost of a wedding is ridiculous...so if u can get together and pay for 1 space instead of 2...it just makes sense.

but on the up side..it was a great idea..i live with my parents rent-free!!!! so i was able to save a ton of money and fh did too! so now we have a downpayment to put on a house..whereis if we lived together i don't know if we could afford it
it was smart that you guys realized that you werent paying rent and that you should start saving.....luckily FH and I are able to save money while we are in the apartment BUT i know a lot of people who are still living at home and they arent saving anything! i think its really foolish of them - if you are at home and you have a job you should really be taking advantage of the fact that you dont have rent and bills. if FH and i were living at home we definitley would be able to save AT LEAST an extra 15K a year....so living at home does have its advantages!
yes it does! and your right i know people who lived at home and never saved a penny..im glad i'm not one of the ones who did that..cause now instead of a few louis vutton bags lol ..i have a house to show for it!
Hey I live at home with my parents but its hard to save a good amount of money working PT and going to school. Don't get me wrong I was able to save some money that of course went to the wedding but it's not always that easy! Luckily I graduate and have my job lined up to start Feb. 4!!!

Yea you do really get to know someone when you live with them. We live together/, but lived together before we were engaged then he moved out and moved back in- its so different now...

We don't TECHNICALLY live together. FH has his own apartment about 5 minutes from where I live, and since we have been engaged, I spend the majority of my time there (about 5 days a week). I dont feel the need to move ALL of my stuff there yet because we are looking for a house and I don't wanna have to move twice . Part of me wants to just move in with him and the other part feels like we waited this long, why not wait it out?!? I guess the living situation that we have now works for us. FH considers it OUR apartment and we make all decorating and furniture etc. decisions together. I think that if we are able to find a house before our wedding, then I will move in with him because I always imagined us having our first home together and I'd probably end up staying there all the time anyway
I do agree with a lot of the girls on here that in todays day and age, it's VERY important for people to know what it's like to live with eachother before marriage. Thats just my opinion though. I think that even just spending weekends together is helpful in easing your way into it.

we live together and it's the best thing ever. We moved in together after 4.5 years and about 2 weeks after getting engaged (but we were planning for him to move in with me for about 6 months at that point, just waiting for his lease to end and my roommate to leave for law school in FL).
i looooooooooooove it but am surprised to see how many people moved in so fast!
