Just curious.....who makes dinner in your house? You or DH? OR, do you share it? It would be nice to think that couples could share it fair and squqare, but in reality when both work full time, its not possible. Although I work like a dog and rarely get home before 7, followed by the gym, I still alwasy cook. Who does dinner in your house? Just curious

DH cooks for us. I hate cooking. But I do ALL the cleaning.

DH cooks (he works nights & is home during the day) & he does a lot of the cleaning as well (I know, I'm very lucky)...

I cook & DH helps me clean up.....I actually enjoy doing the cooking because I know that I am cooking healthy (both DH & I are watching). If I am grilling something, DH will step in if he is home. Most of the time though, I am home at least 3 hours before DH

oh what a great question.. haha..
i dont enjoy cooking - but i try.. DH and i work until 6 or 7 and i try and work out beofre he gets home.. so technically, we get home the same time.. BUT.. he is always asking me whats for dinner.
i dont think its a fair thing, BUT i would love it if it was equal.. anfd i enjoy cleaning more than cooking..
any suggestions?? ive tried many..

We both cook. If I cook, DH does the dishes. If he cooks, then I wash the dishes. We'll try to figure out who is going to cook what at the beginning of the week.

Alot of times I will prepare the dinner beforehand and DH will put it in the oven and put on vegatables. It was great when I was working late dinner was waiting to be put on the table when I got home :) Otherwise I will do the cooking but he does lots of cleaning

it depends.
sometimes i cook and he cleans
sometimes he prepares the food before i get home cause he gets home before me, then i clean up.
it varies.

i cook, i clean, last night we pulled out the bbq... so he cooked, i cleaned. it just works out for us that way, plus i love to cook and am really anal about the cleaning....

yea....that's why I made this post. I ALWAYS COOK. I don't think DH has ever cooked for me....and if he did, it was something stupid, like an egg. Never a real meal. I don't like doing all the cooking; its not fair. I made this post b/c I wanted to see how other couples do it so that I could get some ideas.

I do 95% of the cooking and 98% of the cleaning. The only cleaning he does is the dishes after I cook - all other cleaning falls to me. With regard to the 5% cooking he does - almost once a week he makes dinner.

i cook AND clean. he gets up from the table, gives me a kiss on the cheek and says 'thanks babe! dinner was great!' and then runs back to watch a sporting event or play video games!
yet get used to it...

My DH is in charge of cooking dinner and taking out the garbage. I do the dusting, vacuuming, laundry, washing of the floors, dishes, etc. It turns out to be pretty even. I attempted to cook when we first moved in together, but he insisted that he could make every meal I made better (and for the most part he is right). I do all the baking.
It's very interesting to see what others wrote. We aren't as weird as I thought.
