My FH and I met through eHarmony. I had been browsing that site on and off for about 10 months when I got an e-mail from them saying they were running a special: 3 months for the price of 1 month. I can't resist a sale, so I signed up again, and within a couple of days was matched with him. He had only joined a few days before that. I guess you can say I got him 'on sale.'

When people hear that this is how we met, they ask us for more details about signing up their friends, relatives, etc. since we both are nice, normal, professional people, so therefore it is not just for people looking for casual hookups.

Since we live 30 miles apart, we would have never crossed paths without eHarmony. We have since heard of at least 4 other couples who met online and have since married, or are engaged.

I met my guy on eHarmony too and got him on sale! The best $50 I ever spent. He was one of my first 'matches' and I knew after only a few correspondences that he was the one for me. We said we loved each other before we even met in person. Crazy I know, but we both just knew. We met two months after endless phone calls and emails (i have the HUGE bills to prove it) and have been inseparable ever since. Just short of a year of dating, we got engaged and here we are now.

We were a long distance couple...I was living in NJ and him in PA so we would have never met if it wasn't for the computer. I was a total skeptic but all of my friends were doing it and I felt left out!!!! I'm so glad I did!

I have a handful of friends that have met online and are now and making !!! People are so busy with their careers and life in general anymore that I don't think there is much of a stigma attached to it anymore.

Your friend should totally do it! If I could find someone to sweep me off my feet and make me believe in love again...ANYONE can!

I was a bit apprehensive about going on-line, but I figured for whatever reason, I wasn't meeting the right person through friends, at the bar, all the organizations I am involved in etc. etc. I also chose a site where I had a much higher chance of meeting someone with the same values and faith as myself, which was very important to me.

He was the second person I emailed and after emailing for several weeks we met and the rest is history. We both knew after the first date that this was it... we just had too many important things in common that made us who we are.....

FH is still a little embarrassed about telling people how we met, but I think your friend should give it a try. You get more information from the emails before you meet than she would get from some guy in a bar. I think it's a good way for normal, good people to meet others when they don't have the time, or quite frankly are not interested in the superficial club/bar scene.

had to go on a few horrendous ok a little more than a few dates to find the good one.
My subsricption was almost up and i said ok i will e-mail this one last person and i am marrying him next year. i guess it just takes some patience and ability to deal with some not so great dates.

Ahhhhh then the drama w/ his ex came into play...so i did what any girl would do...fed him the advice that they just werent meant too be. In with the new and out w. the old!!! haha ...I won!! LOL

We actually lived exactly 2 miles away from each other...and worked around the block from each other. It took the internet for us to meet.

Internet dating was the best thing I ever did. It was a great way to meet lots of guys and network without to many of the in-person 'formalities'.
