typically, the BMs and sometimes the MOB helps out. we just threw one for one of my BMs and we paid for the whole sha-bang. the only thing her Mom did was 'lend us her house and kitchen', so we didn't have to rent a place out. we're all fairly broke now.

even if your BP is broke, there's definitely ways to get it done. we did all of the cooking ourselves, had the party at the bride's parents house, made all of the favors and bargained shopped the heck out of party stores for plates/cups/etc!!! in the end, it came to just about $150 per BM and there were 5 of us. it was a lot of work, but in the end, we were really proud of how things turned out and the bride was thrilled!!! so i wouldn't worry!!

Personally, I didn't have one. But from experience, its whoever throws it. I have been to one where Mom throws it, and pays. I went to one given by the FMIL, and ones given by the MOH and ones thrown by everyone. IT all depends......

ACTUALLY TODAY, ANYTHING GOES, I JUST ATTENDED TWO BRIDAL SHOWERS, BOTH COED, ONE THE COUPLE PAID FOR IN FULL BY THEMSELF, THEY NEVER HAD AN ENGAGMT. PARTY SO THEY MADE IT INTO A COED SHOWER DINNER PARTY.....THIS WAY THEY FELT THEY COULD HAVE IT THERE WAY WITH NO HEADACHES FROM THE BRIDAL PARTY OR FAMILY, IT WAS SO NICE, THEY DID A WONDERFUL JOB............AS FOR THE OTHER SHOWER, IT WAS SPLIT BETWEEN THE BRIDE AND GROOM AND THE GIRLS IN THE BRIDAL PARTY.....SO TODAY THERE IS REALLY NO REAL WAY, ITS MORE OF WHAT YOU WANT TO DO.....
