Who pays???

Hi all, I am new to this site. I just got engaged a month ago and am setting the date for next april/may 2004. I was just wondering who is paying for your weddings? Bride, groom, both? Brides parents, grooms parents? And to what extent is fair? Thanks!

We are paying for pretty much everything!
My mom will chip in $5000 and FMIL will chip in $5000
My dad said he will pay for our honeymoon. But that still leaves about $20,000-$25,000. YIKES! I wish the hall took credit! But I just got a nice $2,000 bonus from work! That is going right into the bank! Somehow, Someway we will come up with the rest of the money! I wish I could afford a fancier wedding, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

I am incredibly lucky in that my parents are paying for the wedding and my in-laws are paying for the rehearsal dinner. My FI and I are going to help out though by paying for favors and little things that we wanted extra. I don't know how we would do this without our families support. Actually, I know we wouldn't be doing this without their support. We would be marrying in Las Vegas (the cheap way)!

My Dad and stepmom are giving us $5000 and my mom is paying for my dress and accessories and she is paying for the church. My FH and I are paying for the rest. It will be a big help
