Who pays for pre-wedding pampering?

Who pays for pre-wedding pampering?

What are you paying for, for your bridal party? Hair? Nails? Everything? Nothing?

I'm just wondering what is normal/expected/etc?

Thanks!

I'm going to treat my girls to airbrush make-up and maybe hair but I've been to weddings where nothing is done for the bridal party.

My sister was in a wedding last year where not only was no pampering given but the BMs were asked to pay for their own bouquets!!!! jeez!

I've always paid for myself in other bridal parties i've been in, so I assumed to do the same.. to have them pay for themselves (dress, hair, makeup & nails unless they do themselves).. is that wrong?

I will buy the jewelry though, and obviously give a nice thank you gift.

actually none of that is expected...some brides do that for their BP as their gifts to them...its a very nice gesture but again not expected

I guess I don't think there is any 'right' or 'wrong.' I just feel like being part of a bridal party is so expensive, but I still want to do nice things so I'm wondering if I should pick up some of the costs...

Hmmmm.

if you can swing it then go for it...would you buy them a gift too or do this as their gift?

I'd like to give a gift too, but maybe something smaller. I've been really struggling with this whole thing. My bridal party is small and the girls are extremely close friends (really they are like my sisters) and so I want to be able to lavish gifts on them and help pay for everything, but budget doesn't quite allow...

I decided to let the do their own pampering and instead next month I am having a Tea/Lunch at a Tea Room for the BM and my mom and FMIL and then will get them gifts and DOJ.
I don't think its required to pay for the pampering but I agree, it is expensive to be a BM so its nice do someting 'extra'

well its up to you...you know your girls so you know what they would prefer. Talk to them and see if they already had plans about where to get their hair and make up done

I wish I could afford to pay for their hair and make-up and give them a nice gift too- so I am opting for the gift instead.

If I can, I may pay for everyone's manicures the day before too

my sister was in the BP for the groom - he was her best friend and the bride hated that fact. She also didn't invite my sister to go dress shopping with them but that's another story.

I only have 4 girls, I was planning on paying for their make-up and getting them a gift also. For my maid of honor i;ll probally do alittle extra. Their hair is up to them what they want to do. I have someone comming to my house and if they want to use her she will be avaiable.

while its not expected at all---girls in a BP understand there are just some expenses to be paid---its a nice gesture to pay for something.

i paid for the airbrush makeup for my girls and moms---i had only 2 girls in my BP so it was easy to do

I am just covering their hair.

I was at first put in an awkward position because one of my BMs assumed I was going to be paying for their hair and makeup and made a comment about it when we were all out.

I know you usually do a bridesmaid luncheon - do you think it would be ok to do that on the Friday before the wedding - do say, a mani/pedi/massage plus a lunch?

I am going to have them do their own thing because I'd rather buy them a gift that they can keep and reuse...I feel like although the nicest gesture in the world, if I did that I'd need to buy gifts too, which would come out to a lot of money since my BP is big.

I am considering giving as a part of their gift a certificate for a mani-pedi that they can use after the wedding, on their own.
