Who pays for wedding bands??

Who paid for your wedding band? Just curious..I've always heard he is supposed to pay for yours and vice versa..mine is going to be compared to his..so i feel like he'll stick me with the bill! lol

FH is getting mine and i will buy him his. the price diff is in the thousands but he wants a really plain band and i want diamonds - we discussed it and went to our jewler to see how much mine is going to cost since it has to be custom made. FH was okay with the cost - it actually was a little less than he was expecting so he was kind of happy i think LOL

i dont think it really matters - if FH needs help paying for my band than i will give some more money towards it - he probably wont let me do that though - since he'll want to technically buy it for me - he'll just ask that i help him out with some other wedding related expense instead so he can use 'his' money for my band. me, i could care less - i see it as our money and our wedding bands

Agreed...i felt the same way and there was such a difference that I only felt right doing it this way. Luckily we got a GREAT price and a 10% discount buying where we did.

Technically according to Jewish faith he's supposed to buy my ring because of traditional old time 'he's buying me' type of thing

I need to buy a second ring for the ceremony (I need a plain band) which wont be expensive so i'll probably let him pay for that. I found something on ebay for $50.

Thats our philosophy..I mean we already live together, pay the bills together sooo, I could see if you want to be more traditional if you don't live together yet. Depends on you guys I guess...

Hes paying for everything.. And I mean EVERYTHING!!!
We have a very different relationship... Weve lived together for over2 years now and we have a baby together.. So he works and I stay home with our daughter....
His money is our money.. Its like we are already married... He works for money and I work just as hard for hugs, kisses, smiles, and giggles...

I ended up getting 2 different bands (since I'm crazy) so we ended up splitting the total price right down the middle. Let's face it...by the time you get the ring, you'll be married and your finances will most likely be together anyway, right?? So it probably doesn't matter too much who pays for the rings!!

Mine is def. going to be alot more than his, especially since mine has to be made to fit my ering. however, he knows i dont have that kind of money so i'll pay the couple hundred for his and he can come with the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds more for mine lol ...not sure if he realizes that yet, but he will in the summer! lol

Yeah same situation....but I mean if you think about it, soon enough it will all be OURS and no HIS and HERS, so does it really matter? hehe....whoever has the money to pay should just pay I think, so he may end up paying for both (yes I'm poor and he's an engineer!)
