We paid for them together which was out of our 'wedding fund' where we both put money into..in the end it works out.

We bought our own too. We wanted very different things. It just worked out that way.
After the wedding we pooled our $ anyway so it wasn't any difference.

Technically you buy for each other but since we are paying for the wedding ourselves and we already live together it's kinda of like we are just buying them together lol

i sooo want to pay for MY own wedding band (and even willling to pay for FIs too!) but FI told me his aunt is giving it for us as a wedding gift... but with limitations (just plain gold band) i'm not saying i'm ungrateful but i wanted something else to go with my platinum e-ring!

Cleokizzy, if you really aren't happy about that arrangement you should speak up now. You will be stuck with a ring you don't like forever. Maybe you should explain that you really appreciate the sentiment, but you don't usually mix platinum and yellow gold. May she'd be willing to put up the cash. Maybe your FI can speak to her if you think that would go over better. Good luck!

We are just buying what we want because FH wants simple and I want an eternity band. So, BIG difference in price. And really it's all our money anyway
