With the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances, who is suppose to pick the song? My FMIL's friend said my FH should pick 'The Perfect Fan' by the Backstreet Boys because it's a beautiful song. I agree it is, but is he suppose to dedicate the song to his Mom or is she??? FH has no opinion he said his Mom should pick because he doesn't care.

There is no rule that says any one person picks. I would guess it is from son to mother but if your FH doesn't care then have your FMIL pick.

My FMIL doesn't have a clue on what song to pick. But I think that if we use the Backstreet Boys song, then I should pick a song for my Dad. But I always thought the parents pick the song for thier child.

the bride and groom usually pick the songs unless the parent has a special request or a favorite song

I also think that the bride and groom pick the songs. My father passed away, but my FH picked the song that he is going to dance to with his mom.

I have a feeling that my FH will let his mom or me pick, because the specific song they use honestly isn't that important to him. It's one detail he doesn't seem to care about so much.
