Ok so we got a menorah which was the uglyist P of C that I ever saw. It looks like 2 people with their fingers on fire.

We are jewish, but I have a few that we like, and honestly, unless it was by our future children or a sterling one (traditional) would I want it. No one that has seen it likes it at all.

We got a sushi set from DH's uncle and aunt. Just b/c we like to GO OUT for sushi doesn't mean we make it or eat it at home. One of my mom's cousins got us a mirror with our wedding invitation framed at the top. It looks strange and is totally not my taste. I told my mom she can hang it up in my bedroom in her house.

Oh the gurgling fish pitcher was exciting- or the family crest which said our name was Irish and its Irish lineage. My DH family is Scottish.

I have an ATTIC FULL of things never taken out of the box!! I wasnt given receipts and did not want to ask where they got it and am too lazy to search it out, so many many many things are sitting up there. Im thinking of having a yard sale and selling everything.

We should have an LIW yard sale or a big trade of all our registry items not opened. I got so many duplicates too it was amazing! I kinda feel bad not using them but I dont even have room for these things.

We got a very bizarre vase that I'm afraid will fall over if I ever put anything in it. It's EVERY COLOR OF THE RAINBOW and it even scares the cat! I am going to have to take a picture of it and post it!

I got this painting in a frame of a bride groom in a carriage in some meadow. The bride had a white hat/feather thingon and BIG puffy sleeves. It looked like my SIL's 80s wedding dress. It is hideous

I think everyone gets some unexpected gifts

1. A wall handing in primary colors -- totally not my style.

2. Bowls, vases, and frames that I don't want or don't like

3. Small statue of 'lovers' totally not my style.

this thread just reminded me of something I did a few years ago.

this “friend” I used to have was getting married, for the 2nd time. I was her MOH for her 1st marriage and spent a fortune being in her wedding and gave a very generous gift. She never even sent out thank you’s! she & hubby #1 divorced just over a year later.

Anyhow, so I get an invite to bridal shower number 2 and I responded that I would go. I bought her a registry gift and the day before her shower, I found out that she said something really nasty about me. And honestly, our friendship was down to non existant at that point. So I returned the registry gift and bought her a $5 vase at Odd Job, and left the price sticker ON!

You had to see her face when she opened my gift! It was a mixture of surprise and angry.
