who received items NOT on the registry that they have NO use for

Ok so we got a menorah which was the uglyist P of C that I ever saw. It looks like 2 people with their fingers on fire.

We are jewish, but I have a few that we like, and honestly, unless it was by our future children or a sterling one (traditional) would I want it. No one that has seen it likes it at all.

I guess now would be a good time to mention my picture of a fish. Yup - that pretty much describes it. It's behind the sofa in the spare room right now. Love the person who gave it to us so I feel bad letting it go but....

We got a LOT of things not on the registry that are completely useless.

We got the fugliest serving platter on God's green earth.

A lot of dollar store lingerie that doesn't even LOOK like it would fit me.

My personal pet peeve- FIGURINES!!!!! I hate them with a passion. Cherubs, frogs, dolphins. A two foot tall pink ceramic heart covered in pink and white roses. It doesn't matter to me if they are from Lladro, I don't like them.

Before I sound like an ungrateful wretch- it isn't the value of the gifts I am unhappy with, it is the lack of thought behind them.

How many silver frames can a couple have?

Aparently the answer is a million.

And of course I have no idea where any of them came from!

I received (as a wedding gift) a crystal vase. it wasn't ugly, just not my taste.

the thing that is so weird about it is, the person who gave it to me knows I registered at Fortunoff because she asked me. (that's where she bought the vase). why wouldn't she get me something from my regsitry?

we got a smoothie maker from one of Jake's friends- this is what she said to me at the shower- 'I figured Jake could make protien shakes and you can make margaritas'

now- I work out like crazy and have a trainer- and Jake hasn't been to the gym in over 6 months- who is making protein shakes again!

needless to say it's in the box- we already have a blender we don't use

but she keeps asking Jake about it- so I have to keep it

hopefully we will have a summer house or something an I can use it there

Haha - this is a great question...

I got a picture of a old victorian lady in white. That is not my decorating style so it won't be hung. It is in the basement and I feel bad throwing it away.

Ang - the fish! Too funny!!!! I have seen Ang's fish gift and it is interesting to say the least.

I got Purple, yes purple candlestick holders. First of all I dont like purple. 2, I have all earthtones. and 3 Purple candlestick holders, why??? they are in a box under the bed.

We got silly gifts like that too at the shower. We got some weird gourmet soup mixes (that have long since been tossed), fugly metal things you’re supposed to hang on a wall. (like I would ever display something that said “don’t go to bed mad, stay up and fight )

but these gifts were from people who already bought us a registry gift and just wanted to give something extra

Not really, everything I got was off my registry. I did purchase a smores maker, my DH was so mad because it's something one would use once and never use again, but I had to have it!
