Thats crazy! When I picked out the ring, he kept asking me are you sure you dont want one bigger. This was perfect! I would have accepted a CZ- it didnt matter to me. It shouldnt matter as long as you love your FH

They prob get a 2 carat stone that is of poor quality. We went for quality rather than size...

We did this too...FH actually felt guilty it wasn't bigger, but the diamond I got is 100% perfect...I love it!!

I think this is a Long Island, New York mentalitiy...IMO

So wait, Fh doesn't love you unless he goes broke buying you a piece of jewlery? That way you can spend the beginning of your life together in debt because he spent all his money on a ring!

Yeah, some people are SOOOO rude! And clueless

LOL i think so....FH was kinda guilty it wasn't bigger, but he was so set on getting a perfect diamond, that seriously it really is almost perfect according to the 4c's....i kept telling him over the past yaer, 'when u buy a ring, please spend more money on quality NOT size!'

It is a LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK mentality. I have mentioned that I live in Rochester and I do not know anyone with a bigger ring than me from Rochester. However, my friends from Long Island are about the same size or bigger. My best friends ring (Long Island) is huge, it looks absolutely ridiculous on her tiny hand. I joke about it all the time!

I think the ring has to fit your hand, your personality, and of course your budget!!!

i am reading a book for class called The Overspent American. its about how american people will do anything to get whatever they want. i came across a part that says,

There was a DeBeers diamond ad on tv a couple of years ago & at some point the commercial says 'a carat or more.' 'so rare it will be worn by fewer then 1% of women.'

umm i love how people say that like 'oh ill have 2 karats and higher thanks....' lol... i think its like most of us when we invisioned our wedding to have everything with the best of, that is until we actually priced everything out lol

ita...obviously it would be nice to have a 2 karat ring but is unimportant in the scheme of things.
