My friend was recently engaged and she told me a lot of people have been saying to her 'if the ring isn't 2 karats then hes not ready to marry her'.....and they were being serious.....am i the only person that thinks this is so messed up to say? money doesn't buy happiness......

A girl I used to work with actually told me that she wouldn't accept a ring that was less than two carats. She has since gotten engaged and has a two carat solitaire that I am just not impressed by. I think that that is a ridiculous thing to say. I love my ring, and my FH, and would love them both if there were no diamonds involved.

That's messed up for a 3rd person to say yeah. My mom used to joke about it and say something like 'dont' except something less then 2 carots'
I think she meant it to a certain extent but it doesn't mean he loves you any less.

yeah i told her to ignore them....there obviously bitter about there own relationships and can't stand to see someone actually being in love and happy......glad i'm not the only one :)

umm i love how people say that like 'oh ill have 2 karats and higher thanks....' lol... i think its like most of us when we invisioned our wedding to have everything with the best of, that is until we actually priced everything out lol

Ridiculous! Not to mention...some people dont want a ring that big. When FH and I went looking at rings he kept looking at these 2 carat ones...I told him to save his money!
