I'm not religious neither is FH. I'm not sure if there is a god, he thinks there is. My mother raised me Catholic, FH was raised Episcopalian. I'm not looking to make a statement. I'd like to have someone religious marry us, so that we are acknowledging our families, but if possible not have a very religious ceremony. Is there some kind of compromise?

Minister Keith Gugliuzza did our ceremony. We had a completely non religious but he does all kinds of ceremonies and can accomodate anything you want. You can contact him his website is nymarriages.com

ive heard rave reviews about reverend Deb. FH and i met her at the bridal showcase earlier this year and we liked her very much... we are just going a little more religious for our ceremony.....

What about an officiant who can do a spiritual but not particularly religious ceremony.

I'm Catholic and DH is Episcopalian. Neither of us are very religious, but we got married in a Catholic church by a Catholic priest. They didn't give us any problems either.
ETA: We didn't have a full mass, just a ceremony.

I'm fb friends with him. He is so sweet. We met him for what was supposed to be a 20 min meeting at Starbucks. We were there for 2 hrs and only left b/c they were closing. LOL We got along with him really well.

ha, that's so funny.
when i called keith, he said that he only had about 5 minutes to talk b/c he was about to catch a train. we were on the phone for 30 minutes! he just e-mailed me some sample ceremonies so i'm going to take a look.

We used Fr. Brennan. He did a quick catholic ceremony. Nothing dramatic. He said we can do what ever we want. We didn't have to do pre-cana. We met with him once and we were sold on him. Neither one of us are very religious but were both raised catholic. And we can have a children baptized should we chose to.

We are not religious at all really, I believe that there's something out there, just not sure what, FH doesn't believe in anything. FH's family wants us to get married by a priest but we don't want to. We are actually thinking of having one of FH's good friends to marry us, he has known us both since we started dating, and he's a great public speaker. Not sure yet but we don't want a stranger to marry us really!

I am Catholic and he is Methodist...We are using a unitaritan minister...She will make it just the way we want it.

We loved Pastor April. I am not on here too much, so FM if you want info. We are both Catholic, but were married at the venue, and it was sort of a spiritual, semi-religious ceremony, but not at all over the top.

He is a wonderful, wonderful man. We are using him, although we are strongly considering moving our ceremony to a Catholic Church, since religion is important to us. However, we are not moving it unless he can come along with us and participate in the ceremony!
