Re: Who should deal with this situation?
GOLF???? That doesn't seem very important to me. Is he getting PAID to play???????
I would be offended after doing so much. Since it IS family, your Dad calling might be OK.. Does he usually solve all the family issues?

What time is your E-party? If it is at night he really can't be golfing all night! I would have your dad call...but I am a wimp who hates confrontations!

Re: Who should deal with this situation?
I wouldn't want anyone to be at a party for myself that didn't want to be there, I would just let it go. If forced to go, your BM would probably have a bad time, since he would be annoyed, since he already had golf plans.
I personally think that it is a stupid excuse not to come, but your BM is the one that allows it.

I would leave it alone. At least she's coming. Next time something is for him, have your soon-to-be husband go Roller Blading.

SCREw him! If he doesn't want to be there, don't force him. It's demeaning to you! Your party will be awesome without him! Although that is very rude, I would be angry but I wouldn't have anyone talk him into going.... IMHO.

He's a stupid A$$, but your cousin should've put her foot down. I would never let Len get away, much less use such a stupid excuse.

Re: Who should deal with this situation?
I would keep it between you and the cousin. I think by getting your dad involved, it will escalate the problem.
You're rightfully upset that he's choosing golf over your party, especially when you made so much of an effort for their wedding.
But forcing him to go by putting on family pressure or guilt, isn't going to make you feel better that he chose golf over you. I would talk to your cousin and let her know how much that upset you. But getting him to your party shouldn't be your goal anymore.

I agree!! His not worth the effort!!! Golf??? That is just ridiculous!!! I think your Dad should make the call...maybe it will make him think what's really more important!!! I'm sorry that you have to deal with this T.....

You know, T...with all of these arseholes you have to deal with it's a wonder you don't shoot someone. What a moron.
If he can't be bothered, you don't need him there! I just hope they have the class to reciprocate everything you've given them.
Edited to add: I would let dad speak up so they know how wrong he is, but don't try and force the issue. It's better for you to have the people there that want to be there, not the ones that want drama!

Re: Who should deal with this situation?
I wouldn't even bother... and i definitely wouldn't get my father involved.
We're having similar problems... except it is with our wedding. There's only 4 more days and people are calling and saying they don't know if they're going to make it... I say SCREW THEM!!!! They are the ones that are going to look rediculous... no one else....

Re: Who should deal with this situation?
What a pathetic and LAME-O excuse! I think you should let it go for now and when you see him again make a sarcastic comment like you hope he'll find the time around his golf habit to make it to your wedding and ask him if there is anything more you can do like change the time of your wedding to accomodate his very important tee time!! People are so selfish! I am very sorry this happened to you!

Re: Who should deal with this situation?
I don't see why he should be forced to go. My FH is a semiprofessional windsurfer and for then when there is wind and good weather, they go no matter what. I think he will only miss it for our wedding or the birth of our babies (in the future). Just let him be, his wife and kid are going, and they are your true blood family.

Re: Who should deal with this situation?
I am so sorry that you are dealing with this! Mean people **** (family included!)
However, I would not involve your Dad in this situation. I think it will just make everything awkward and more stressful. Honestly, what outcome do you expect from your Dad speaking to them? Like everyone else said, I think it's wrong to try and force this jerk to attend. If you are close with your cousin, you might tell her yourself that you are hurt and disappointed and just leave it at that. They are adults and they need to make their own decisions.
His loss, though...sounds like he's gonna miss a great party, T.

I'm amazed you didn't already say something!! I would have flipped on her! Golf?? Please...tell me he's donating a lung that day or something worthwhile at least!
But since you shouldn't stress yourself about these things, you should have your dad let him know how RUDE and OBNOXIOUS that is. I think six weeks is more than enough time to reschedule a game!

i would just let it go to. it's his loss really. and there's point in stirring up trouble, if he doesn't want to come then he doesn't. ****s to be him.

Re: Who should deal with this situation?
Hey, I would let it go. No need to get Dad involved. Do you really want someone there that doesn't really want to be there anyway? Sure, I'd be annoyed, but take it from where it comes and focus on happy thoughts. One less miserable person to feed...
