Who Should I Dance With...?

A bit of a spin-off from a post on here about dancing with her brother...

My Father passed away in 2005...yet I was very close to him. Now, It's easy to know who FH will dance with...his Mom...specially since he's momma's boy...LOL, but I don't know who I should dance with. I have three, yes THREE possible choices. So I'm lost!! HAHA

Option one - FH's Dad...I'm super close to him and almost consider him my real Father in soo many ways. He's sooo great, words simply arent enough.

Option two - My Brother... Yes, he is walking me down the aisle, so I think it's only right to have him dance with me, but I don't know... I mean, yes, he's 5 years older then me, but he acts 10 years YOUNGER... So I don't know how I feel about that...

Option three - My Mom's new Boyfriend that she's been with for just about two years. He is also verry helpful and has done a world of difference to make my Mom happy...

Sooo... what should I do??? LOL

I think your brother.

I am assuming that you feel like you need to dance with someone instead of just skipping it all together. If you feel like you have to dance with someone, I would dance with your brother.


ETA: What about dancing with your mother? I know a lot of brides are doing that. I might even do that myself.

i think your brother. your brother is already playing a big role by walking you down the aisle. IMO, you shouldn't dance with your mom's new bf cause i feel it's something special and should be shared with someone who has been around for a long time.

Can you dance with all three? If all three are important to you in different ways, then why not? It could be awesome! Start dancing with your brother (because he's the one who walked you down the aisle, and is from your side of the family.)

Then have Mom's new beau 'cut in'- you know, the whole tap-on-the-shoulder thing! Dance with him for a while, and then...

have FH's dad 'cut in', and finish with him!! Sort of like a new beginning with a new family-sort-of-thing.

I think you clearly feel some reason to dance with all three, but one is not jumping out at you to dance with solo. Why not celebrate the fact that you have so many men who love you and want that privilege? I say, all three!

If you want more traditional and to dance with just one, I'd say your brother, because he is your family, and your father is a part of him.

Well, my Mom had an idea a while back from what she heard about from a wedding in Ohio or something... He groom danced with the Bride's Mom and the Bride danced with the Grooms Mom... I don't like that idea... that's for sure.

I guess having my brother dance would be the best bet. And that he's moving next week and I won't see him until April, I will prolly be crying... lol.


Sooo...with that being decided. THANKS ladies..!! How can I incorporate my FFIL and Mom's man into my wedding??? I know that they will both be hleping out a TON! ... And ideas???

That is a great idea...but I don't think that will work out so well. I'd rather just dance with only one. But, I would still like to involve them in the wedding once way or another...any suggestions??

i danced with my mom. she was the other one who raised me so that was my choice. HTH

I was going to suggest the 'cut-in' method as well. This way you can honor all 3. Just pick a song that's long enough to afford you three dances. I think it would be very touching. You can even have your husband cut in as the final part of the dance.
