Re: Who Speaks Spanish?

the people who you choose to be the padrinos of your wedding will be the ones sitting at the altar with you and they are the ones that sign the paperwork. ( i've usually seen them be 'older' people...people w/ so called life experience) so technically if you have a moh and best man it translates to the padrinos of the wedding in spanish b/c those are the ones that will sit with you at the altar....i would just have your mc present it....el padrino y madrina de la boda....and then when its time for bridal party....las damas y caballeros....

i know this is all very confusing....when my fam ask me who my padrinos are for my wedding i just say im doing that part of the wedding the american way

hope this helps let me know if you need more clarification

Thanks chica!

see the only thing is that the poeple who we want to be padrinos just like u say are 'older people'... So i was NOT sure if i need to include tehm too into the Bridal Party..
I was not sure if I need to ask my (future) madrina for help... or to come with me to certain appts...
eso es lo que me confunde... =-(

Re: Who Speaks Spanish?

in the 'dominican culture' the madrina usually gives the cake and the padrino pays for the booze....but in this country it never works out like that b/c most halls have everything included....my dad was a padrino once for a wedding here and he offered to pay for the couples honeymoon...so technically they should offer to pay for something or their gift should be a little bigger....if your comfortable w/ your padrinos i would ask them....do you think you can help me out w/ this...as for going to appts i would go w/ whoever you feel comfortable w/ even your FH! my moh just had a baby so shes super busy....i usually depend on one of my bridesmaid to go w/ me to appts b/c my FH refuses to go w/ me...he just hands over the $$$$$

y entiendo que es muy confunido...la cosas es que yo he participado en demasiada bodas!!! pero ahora me toca a mi!!

To funny that u say that raquel becuase as soon as ii got engaged my mom kept telling me that the padrinos need to have money to pay for the booze and cake. Lol we kept the tradition somewhat alive, our best man iis giving us our honeymoon and moh a photo booth.
