I did, I couldn't pull out of my driveway- my car just kept sliding all over the place so I called in and took a personal day.
I'm feeling guilty about it but, in reality I have no way of getting to work. FH works by me too and his biulding/office is closed.
I just feel strangely guilty about being home.

I'm home!! FH and I carpool and when he went out to clean off the car he couldn't even get to it- it looked like an igloo :)
Since we live in an apartment complex we don't have a shovel so we're stuck for the time being- plus the roads are a mess so we're just going to relax today :)

I feel so bad about stayinghome today- I talked to one of the girls I work with and she was like 'the roads are plowed so it's not so bad' but, I don't see the roads plowed by me.
I just feel guilty and I work with workaholic women so I don't know if they will be understanding or not but, I just don't want anything bad to happen.
I can't afford to get into an accident and I feel like I would be asking for it going out there. I don't drive in incliment weather, I'm terrified of it.

Your right, I should enjoy. I have to get over my guilt, I never stayed home from incliment weather so it feels strange.

I stayed home.. I was not going to take any chances in this weather, my area is always the last to get plowed. Don't feel bad that is what personal time is for, enjoy your day off

Agreed - same here. I work in the city, but have to drive about 6 miles to the train station....and I live an extremely hilly area that always get plowed last - so...I wasnt chancing it!

I'm home - I live in North Bronx near westchester.. once I heard the NYC public schools were closed, I said screw it.... the kids are home so I stayed home too...made them a nice breakfast.. poor FH works is jersey city and was on the bus at 615 this morning -- at least he'll come home to a nice dinner and most of the last minute wedding stuff DONE!!!!!

Thanks girls- I don't feel like I made the wrong choice anymore. I guess I was feeling like the ONLY person in NY to stay home. Glad to know I didn't overreact and it's understandable that I didn't want to chase it.

I am at home because my school district closed last night for the first time in years....don't worry about calling in, if the NYC Schools closed then you know you had a valid reason for not going to work!!!! They never close!!!!! And DH just called me and told me that the roads are bad...he had to go in today :(
