Who thought about having a DW(Destination WEdding)?

We did- i would have been an '06 bride getting married July 1st- but noooooooooooo I have to have a NY wedding!!!

I was thinking about it to! But I decided I want ALL my family and friends to be with us! And with having a DW we wouldn't be able to have them there! Not to mention..my parents said they would pay for EVERYTHING if we did a DW! But since I want the whole big wedding thing..that's not happening!! Gotta do this on our own...that's why we put it off to 2007!

I did. I really wanted it, but fh had to have everyone be here for the wedding. Whatever.

I read the title, and thought, woah honey, I'm straight! No dear wife for me!

But yes, I toyed with a destination wedding. My first choice was Sanibel Island, then Key West, then Hilton Head island...even Vegas.....but I'm the first wedding in my family in about 15 years. My parents got really upset when I told them that's what I wanted...soooo upset, that they even decided to chip in for us to have a NY wedding.

Definitely thought about it but we both really wanted all our family & friends there and knew they wouldn't all be able to make it.

well i put a a deposit down for a place in jersey, but im still toying with destination wedding ideas.

We thought about Puerto Rico for some time.
And sometimes..when things get out of hand with this wedding, I still think of it

I'm in the process of trying to plan a destination wedding. I thought it would take away from the stress, but so far it hasn't AT aLL. I'm dealing with a whole other set of issues...will have to see, but right now, we might be taking a cruise and getting married in St. Maarten, but that's not definite yet.

I am having a destination wedding (Ireland)! With the internet plus all our relations it has been quite easy (touch wood!)

We thought of having it in Ireland.... my parents are from there and FH's grandparents are from there, so it would have been easy to plan with so much famiyl over there, but we are on a tight budget and getting everyone over there would have been tough. Also, I grew up here, so I wanted to have my American friends as part of my day too! I am not so sure how many would have been able to make the trip over. But, a lot of the family will be coming over from Ireland, so it will be fine!

yeah we thought of it.....but then i realized i couldnt have my dream dress and have all of my older relatives there.....
