Who usually pays for the shower.

I'm curious..... is it usually mom, the bridesmaids, or a combination of both?
I know who is paying for my shower, I am asking about someone else's shower. TIA!

I have been reading a lot of things lately regarding shower etiquette that say MOB should never pay for shower, in my cousins case, entire BP is chipping in and so is MOB (she asked to contribute).
For mine, i only have MOH, so my mom and aunt are paying for the restaurant, MOH and friend will take care of the rest and do organizing

My mom is taking care of the shower, my MOH and BMs are taking care or the Bachelorette Party. ( Mom's a bit of a control freak!)
