Who usually sets up?

Question from the bride who is 70% clueless about wedding details: who typically sets up the ceremony decorations/reception decorations?

I'm doing DIY ceremony decorations (runner/flower petals/bows) and DIY reception decorations (candles/petals/favors), so just recently I realized, puzzling to myself- wait a minute- who sets up this stuff?

Is there someone who usually does this? And in the DIY scenario, if that means there isn't someone, who does? Anyone else do DIY stuff for the decorations and/or have advice? Thanks

the SC set up my reception stuff (menus, favors, etc) but our florist did our ceremony decor so i'm not sure about that. maybe if it's not too much the SC will do that for you too--i would definitely ask them. if not, maybe a family member can do it? like a cousin or somebody who doesn't need to be with you or in photos?

Does your hall have a matre' d? I believe that my BM said that our matre' d would set up our room for us. As for the church, someone will probably have to go there and set things up if you are having aisle runners and stuff. Call SC and ask if someone will set the CPs up for you.

Call your hall and ask. Maybe they can have someone there do it. Otherwise, maybe an aunt or another member of the family you can trust do it.

florist setup the flowers, matre' d typically sets up the other stuff (DIY) - ours did and was seriously impressed how well it was since i had a TON of crap.

my RH set up everything for me, I just had a detailed list of what goes where and I put them in different boxes.

I'm also doing DIY everything...I have to drop everything off the Mon. before & put everything together. The day of, the Matre'd is resonsible to set up the tables. They asked me to take pictures for them to have so they will see how I want it set up.

Either the hall or if you have a DOC they will do it.

USUALLY for ur RH - u drop ur stuff off the week before the wedding with detailed instructions for the staff...atleast this is how it was at my RH.. i would just call & speak with ur M'D to be sure...better to know sooner rather than later as for the ceremony, usually the florist...if not the florist - speak with the church - they may have someone. I used my pastors & a coordinator although i DIDN'T get married in my church...so i had to drop my stuff off a few days before, and my florist & coordinator handled everything.

I got married at the swan club and they did everything for me. I dropped off my programs and petal bags and they filled the bags for me and placed the programs on the chairs for us. The florist dropped off the flowers and the SC set them up in the ceremony area. They are super organized and helpful. Sandra was my maitre d and she rocked!

your RH should do the setup for you...just be specific with instructions for them!
