I would love to...my MIL has said to me on numerous occasions, 'it would be a shame for you to waste your law degree....all the education just wasted'.
I know she's an idiot, but I've met SOOOOOOO many WOMEN who have made comments like this to me. Even my friends say, 'I'd just go crazy if I didn't work or have my independence'. Mind you, these friends don't have children,
My DH says I can do whatever I want (he'd love me to stay home but he doesn't want to be pushy).
I know I shouldn't care about what other people say, etc...but it just gets so darn frustrating to hear this.
Anyone else hear similar remarks?

sorry to jump on this board, but someday i will be on...anyway, i always thought i would want to be a sahm, but i have realized lately that i would need something even just part time, to keep my sanity. i wouldn't want to work for the first 9 months to a year, but after that, i know myself and i don't know if i could handle it mentally. however, it will not be a decision to make considering to live on LI, i would have to work anyways...oh well.

I want to be a SAHM so bad!!! I hate my nasty B!TCHY FEMALE BOSS. Another girl in my group just had a baby and she goes through HELL to be an employee and Mom. It's such a struggle and work doesn't make it easy for her. We only have 10 sick days with only 5 she can use for the baby. It's so F-ing hard!!!!
