I know this has been asked but I thought I can get some new responses. I really really don't want to kennel her for the day. What did you girls do?

Re: Who watched your dog the day of your wedding?
Do you have a neighbor or a friend that can let them out?
The day of FH's cousins wedding his parents went to Brooklyn and we let out/fed his dog and cats.

Re: Who watched your dog the day of your wedding?
i dont want to get crucified for this but i think we are just leaving her alone from thurs night to sat morning - im going to see if someone can clean up the wee wee pad and give her fresh water and food (my dog is crazy and about 40 lbs so i dont trust anyone to walk her plus everyone in our immediate circle is going to be at the hotel with us)
i think having a stranger watch her, or kenneling her would be much more stressful than letting her stay at home - its about 1.5 days that she will be alone - i tihnk as long as she gets fresh water and any mess she makes is cleaned up she should be ok.....
its the worst part of the wedding - that she wont be there

yea FH wanted to leave her alone overnight but she's only 6 months I don't feel comfortable with that. It's awkward b/c anyone I feel comfortable leaving her with wasn't invited to the wedding so I can't ask them to watch her

We have a neighbor who can come feed her and walk her but she'll still be by herself. She's a baby

we kept our dogs at my mils house, and her neighbor went in a few times and let them out for us.

Re: Who watched your dog the day of your wedding?
I think your dog will be fine if you leave her alone for the day, even though she's 6 months.
We started leaving Max alone almost immediately after we got him so he could get used to us going. He barks for a little then just lays down and plays with his toys. Believe it or not dogs will adapt quickly..the only thing that will make it hard for them to adapt is their owner...meaning if your nervous they'll pick up on that and react to it.
We're leaving our dog alone for the day with water and food, then after the wedding FMIL will go home and see to him. He'll be alone from 2pm-1am.

Re: Who watched your dog the day of your wedding?
my parents dog is old and needs to be let out very often, so our neighbor's kids took care of him. my dad stopped home between the reception and the afterparty as well.
i had a friend who couldnt make it out to NY for the wedding come by a few times to check on our cats (food/water/litterbox duty) since nobody was around from wed-mon. once his family was back, his brother looked after them while we were on our honeymoon.

Re: Who watched your dog the day of your wedding?
One of my friends (who was at the wedding but not in it) slept over our house and took care of my dog the night before the wedding and then walked him right before she left to come to the weddings. My parents took care of the dog right after the wedding and through the honeymoon. I feel for you b/c this was the most stressful part of my wedding!! My dog can't be kenneled at all, but luckily he is very very housetrained.

Re: Who watched your dog the day of your wedding?
no one... my mom let them out, played with them, fed them in the AM (she started feeding them in the AM for a couple weeks prior so they'd get used to it)...
Then my bro's let them out again around 2ish (before they went to DHs for tuxes and pics)...
we stopped by for pics around 4 (let them out again)..
and then my mom didn't get home til 2am but they were fine.. no accidents and they had dry food and water.
