Ok, Im freaking out. We have yet to go to any locations besides Watermill and didnt even get prices there yet, and time is a big deal here, we have little time to go look at places and I feel like the quotes here and usually not for winter( our timeframe for the wedding) or not for Saturday night....anyway, I keep calling, just to get an idea before driving all over LI and no-one seems to want to quote over the phone? Anyone know who will? Thanks Im getting scared I will never find a hall!!!!!

Most places won't give you prices over the phone. That's what LIW is for. Ask here!!!

check out this site to get an idea of price ranges. call up places and ask the question 'what percentage of a discount is normally given on off days off season?' This way you will get an idea without them committing to any particular price...

I was very stern on the phone, I told them I was helping my sister plan her wedding from OOT, she'd be in in a few weeks and needed to make some appointments. So as to not waste anyones time, please just let me know the range. Also, Locations Mag. give the range for most places.

I had no trouble getting prices over the phone. I told them that I live in Chicago and can't pop by to see the place. You might want to tell them you are our of town or something and are trying to schedule when you get back. I don't see the harm in that.

Re: WHO will give me a price quote over the phone?
I had no problems getting quotes over the phone either. I simply told them that I needed a place to accomodate 125-150 people on a Sunday evening in October. I asked 'Usually...... how much does it cost per person?' If they hesitate or say something like , well it depends on the menu, then I would answer 'listen I just want to know if I'll be able to afford it or not, and I wouldnt want to waste your time by going there and finding out.' Most people gave me a rough estimate. I will find a post that I started a while back that will be able to help you out. It was the Nassau county CH quote thread. Good luck and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
