People have told me John Lennon wrote it. I've only heard a version by Mary Chapin Carpenter.

I love that song, its so sweet. I defintely think it was Carpenter.
I am considering walking down the aisle to an instrumental of it... Or perhaps during the candle lighting?

That is actually the song we are using as our first dance :) It's my favorite ever. Mary Chapin Carpenter did the original, slower version and John Lennon did a remake, which is faster but still slow enough to be considered a 'slow song'. Hope this helps :)
