who's 'Blushing' - SURVEY TIME

Original post by colleen1117

Ok ladies - who is and who isn't doing a blusher - i need to decide. I'm envisioning me swatting at the thing like Samantha's sister in 16 candles though. I just want to spit and blow at it when its over my face.....

for those of you who ARE doing the blusher - are you just having the person who walks you down flip it over or are they doing the 'lift , kiss on cheek, replace' and then FH will flip it back permanently when he goes in for his smoocher

i did the blusher. At first i wasnt sure if i wanted to do this bc i thought i'd feel claustrophobic or something hahaha, i wasnt even sure if i wanted a veil period.

But i did it and felt fine.

My dad took off my blusher, and yes did the kiss on the cheek, then he had to shake dh's hand, and then take my hand and place it in dh's hand.

Dh didnt have to flip it back bc it was already flipped back all the way

I plan on doing the same thing

I'm not sure what I'm doing. My mom would like for me to wear the blusher but, I'm not feeling it. Although, I do like the tradition. I'm a daddy's girl and would like to remember that moment. I may change my mind (I've done so so many times since the start of my planning) so who knows.

I never even thought about it and no one has mentioned this to me.. I have a 2 layer veil and that is all.

I'm wearing a blusher... I like it I think it makes me look more bride-y. Also my mom wouldn't have it any other way!
When my dad gives me away he will lift it - it won't stay over my face the entire ceremony.

I was watching Platinum Weddings yesterday and the bride kept it on until the end of the ceremony. The groom lifted it for the kiss. I always thought you had to lift it when you reached the end of the aisle. I guess you can do whatever you want.

I actually saw that too, and i thought that was different. But yeah you dont have to keep it on until the end. Like i said, my dad lifted mine when we reached close to the end of the aisle. You can do whatever you please

I decided not to. I went back and forth for a little, but decided against it. My mom and dad walked me down and this made the giving away easier and more fair to both. Besides, I didn't want my face to be blocked...I wanted a clear view of my soon-to-be husband and wanted him to have a clear view of me too.

It's all up to how you feel.....this can be a last second decision, so think it over. HTH

However, my bro walked me down the aisle...if it was my dad, I may have felt differently. It's a personal choice.

That's how I felt, too. If my dad was alive I probably would have, but my brother walked me down the aisle and (for me) I felt like it was more of a father/daughter tradition...strictly a personal preference, though.

I haven't decided either... I have a seperate comb for my blusher just incase I want to wear it. I also had them put it on a seperate comb so that way I had a shorter veil for the reception since mine is a cathedral.
