I had a bad MU experience yesterday and with a month to go Im thinking of just doing it myself.
If you were a past bride and did your own makeup (& you wore minimal makup on you wedding day), do you regret it?

I also plan on doing my own makeup. I'm particular and I don't want to look like a clown. I'd also like to hear from past brides, I don't want to regret my choice.

I'm getting mine done because I don't know how to apply makeup correctly. I am going to be watching her very closely to make sure the makeup doesn't get caked on.

I'm not bad at doing my own makeup, but I would like to get it done, also, I'd love for my mom and my sister (MOH) to have theirs done. I'm just not sure that I can do a good job for a daytime wedding, where I'm both supposed to look good in photos and look good for my FH and guests.
However, I had a bad makeup trial last weekend, to the point that I thought 'OK, I'll just do it myself.' But then I thought about it some more, and decided to see if i could find someone else and have one more trial. It's only three weeks until my wedding! My hair stylist suggested someone, and we're doing a combined hair/makeup trial tomorrow. So, we'll see.

I want to do mine for the same reason. Im having a skin consultant come to my house next weekend Im giving my bridal party a luncheon and she is coming to teach us how to do make up for the day.

I'm not doing my own, but that's because I have no idea how!! I had a makeup trial and loved it, so I feel so much better about having mine done...I don't wear a lot of makeup and I was worried, but I thought it came out great, very natural and I didn't feel like a clown at all, thank goodness!

That was my plan after I had my first trial (i look like a drag queen), but after I met Kacey, I love her work. I hired her right away..and she is very friendly & affordable. FM me if you want her info

I'm letting my FH best friend do it since she is really good at it. I can't see spending hundreds of dollars on one day for makeup. I would rather buy the products and have someone close to me involved this way. I'm going in a few hours for a trial.

I was planning to do my own but decided against it for one reason: summer wedding. I do a pretty great job at my own makeup-awhile ago I posted pics and still have some in my album of what I did. BUT my best friend brought up that my wedding dau is Jul 29, 2007. Almost August and it will be HOT!!! I may do a great job, but will I be able to apply it so it doesn't streak or get shiny? The woman who is supposed to be doing my makeup and hair uses airbrush and Ive heard it looks natural and won't cake or run. So we will see how the trial goes. Thats the ONLY reason I didnt do my own-its so expensive to get it done. My people are affordable-200 for hair and makeup day of and they come to me, but its still 200 I didnt want to spend.

I was going to do it myself but then I realized I'm not that good at putting on makeup to begin with and I don't want that stress on my wedding day.

I haven't decided yet. I wear make-up everyday, so I'm not bad at putting it on properly, but I think maybe I want something more special for my wedding day. I'm going to have a trial in a few weeks with the girl who is doing my hair, and if I like it, then I'll have her do it. If I'm not crazy about it or if she charges too much, I think I'll just get some nice new make-up & do it myself.
