Where do I look for these people? Can anyone help me? I am not sure where to start and as of today I dont have anyone to marry me...the crucial element to this whole thing.

Well, I'm a lawyer, so I just went up to my favorite judge and asked him! But my sister got a list from her hall when she got married in '04.

thanks for the reply. I called my hall today. Their JOP's are a rabbi and a reverand. I really am looking for a Judge with no religious affiliation.

I am .. I am going to probalby get the judge that married my dad with his new wife.. this guy has also married people on talk shows ... I am 99% sure we are going with him.. www.revido.com

My FH and I are both lawyers - we getting married by a former colleague that became a judge a couple of years ago.

Although we haven't looked yet we are going the jude/jop way as well specifically becasue we did not want any religious affiliation. My cousing got married a year or 2 ago and she got a list of judges/jop's from the office where he got her marriage licence. Also she said that the ones on the list they were given are not allowed to charge more than $50 or so. HTH!

LI weddings has a list of great Officiants. They aren't judges, but theres a captain, and hes really nice. I'm not using him, but I did talk to him. Most of the offciants on here understand that you may not be religous. They respect your wishes and will work with you. Its just a suggestion.

IF YOU CALL THE TOWN HALL IN THE AREA WHERE YOUR HALL IS THEY CAN MOST LIKELY RECOMMEND SOMEONE. ALOT OF TIMES THE TOWN MAYORS OR JUDGES CAN OFICIATE.
