fiance and my family keep telling me NOT to do the garter thing and toss the garter because its embaressing and a waste of time and money. i do kinda agree that its a little embaressing and FH doesnt want to go up my dress infront of everyone but i want a pretty garter. should i buy one for the wedding night or forget it. i bought a toss garter but now i might sell it because fh doesnt want to do it. advice plese tia!!

We are not doing the bouquet and garter toss since no one would be up there since just about all of our family and friends are married. We are doing an anniversary dance instead.

we are not planning on doing it. At first FI thought I should because the RH has this nice balcony where the bride usually tossing the bouquet from but then realized we didn't want to take time away from the dance party

I'm not going to toss anything. My sister thinks its embarrassing to all the single people who have to stand up there- and for me while FH is looking under my dress with my father sitting there.
I am going to have a garter on but it wont be coming off during the reception.

Not doing it. Takes time away from the party and we will have very few singles anyway. We are definatly doing the anniversary dance which I think will be much more romantic.

not doing it either. I dont want FH going under my dress infront of everybody, not to mention we have almost no singles on both of our sides. we are planning presenting my bok to his little siter and garter that will be take off away from everybody earlier to my little brother as for good luck

I didn't do a garter toss. I chose to do an anniversary dance instead. Most of my girlfriends are married, so I thought that it would be more suited for my guests to do an anniversary dance instead. It is all about you and what you want for your day. If you FH is not comfy doing the garter toss, maybe do something else that he would want instead. Did he have any suggestions? It's your day, do whatever you want!

We're not doing the garter or the boK toss. I don't know if I'll be wearing a garter or not just for FH.
I could never stand being a guest at weddings and practically being pulled from my seat kicking and screaming so I can line up to catch the bouquet. Even at weddings that I went to with FH (before we were engaged), people would still try to get me to catch the bouquet! I mean, if another guy catches the garter, how ackward is that for my boyfriend and for me? With that being said, I WILL NOT be doing that at my wedding.
Just buy a pretty garter and have FH take it off in your hotel room or bedroom (as opposed to in front of everyone). LOL
