I didn't do the bo-k toss or garter. We had very few single ppl at our wedding and the few that were, wouldn't have gotten up for it lol But I wore a garter anyway for us

We're not doing the garter and bouquet toss. All of our guests are pretty much married. We'll probably opt for the anniversary dance instead. But, I'll still wear a garter.

I am in line with most people here. No tosses but just decided to still get a cute garter. I never eventhought to get a picture of it but now that someone mentioned it I think I will do it. Reading this post made that decision for me.

Also, Not to sound dumb( )but what´s an annviersary dance? I get the basic idea obviously but specifically what is said or done?

we're not doing it either... we're pretty much the last of our friends to get married and our family members, if not married (or divorced a million times over!) are too young and they would be embarrassed to do this. we're also doing an anniversary dance in it's place.

The anniversary dance is where the DJ or band will ask all of the people married over 50 years to get on the dance floor, then after a minute over 25, then 10 and so on...

Thanks! Now that you mention it I have seen it before but I had forgotten all about it. It is really nice. I think we will be doing it too.

We might just throw the bouquet & garter...I do not want FH up my dress in front of a bunch of people. Either way though, I'm going to get a garter for myself for the wedding night,

I hate the garter toss too!

I'm still doing the bo-k toss though!

I def want to wear a garter also... I'm getting one I'll wear all day that's for the wedding night though. I think it's a cute tradition.

Didn't do the garter toss but I still wore one. We still did the bo-k toss but could've done without.

We didnt do bouquet or garter toss - but my DH had someone sweet & romantic for the garter removal - so we did garter removal - & then put the garter on a bottle of champagne - & gave that & the toss bouquet to couple who was married the longest during the anniversary dance.

I loved my garter removal b/c I had no idea it was going to be more than just the garter. DH had chair with a curtain around the bottom so I couldnt see anything underneath chair - he pulled out a candle (& put it on tray table), lighter (& then lit the candle), vase w/red silk roses (also put on the tray), champagne glasses, and bottle of champagne (opened, poured us each a glass & we toasted & kissed) - I loved it!

The anniversary dance is where the band or DJ will ask all married couples to start dancing on the dance floor. Then ask 5 years or less to leave, thn 10 years or less, then 25 years or less, 35 or less, 40 or less, etc. The couple who have been married the longest will be remaining on the dance floor. We gave bottle of champagne w/the garter around it & also my toss bouquet. We used the song by Anne Murray 'Can I Have This Dance' (it was perfect for it). My parents-in-law won - they have been married for 53 years. It was a shame though b/c our former priest & his wife were there - but are too old to dance - but they have been married 58 years! I still gave them one of the BM's bouquets to take home though!
