I'm having my epics taken tomorrow there (its in queens) and Duet told me that they've had a problem in the past where the park wanted a permit for a bride to take her e pics there.
Does anyone know? My epics start at 5:30 so I was hoping there wouldnt be any staff there to bug us anyway.
I also want to bring my dog, but I heard that they dont allow dogs in the park anymore.

you only need a permit for wedding. If you are doing epics you'll be fine.

I am doing mine there in October. I wouldn't think you'd need a permit to take E-Pics, but I can see how they would want a permit for wedding pics.

I live in one of the highrises there. There are NO DOGS ALLOWED on the piers. Totally *****. There is a little park close the playground where you CAN take your pooch and also on the big open area in front of the piers- just not on the actual piers. You know....the BEST place to take photos with the city in the background is by the entrance to the new park- walk down Center blvd, you're going to pass 4720 Center and a restaurant called Shi. On the left is this little entrance. While you CAN'T take your dog past the entrance, there is a a great view and grass. Also, if you cross the street to where the soccer field is, adjacent to the field is a walk way and greenspace that will allow you to have photos with Pepsi sign directly behind you.
I would honestly try the other two areas first. GEt there 15 mins before your photog to check it out on your own to see what I'm talking about. The area I'm pointing you to is a two min walk from the piers....it's just new and most people who don't live there aren't familiar.

Happy to help! We are finalizing with our dj tomorrow, otherwise I would have offered to meet you and hold the pup so you guys can also go into the new park. Is that at all a possiblity? Can you bring a friend? Trust me, it's worth it!
You HAVE to post pics afterwards We're taking our photos on the roofdeck and the courtyard of our building (4720)....I'll post photos as well in a few weeks.

Thank you! We were there in mid-March of this year. I was freeeezing and between pictures had to put FH's jacket on to keep warm!

Yes, definitely do! There's hammocks, red adironack chairs and these wooden chaises that curve so you can watch the stars and skyline. It's seriously surreal how gorgeous it is. Enjoy girls- and have a great time!
I also had my dog in some of my e-pics, we brought my brother to handle her when we were done with her shots. It was lots of fun.
