After you guys get married, are you going under FHs health insurance? Are ther any benefits to being on the same plan???
we're both keeping ours since its free through work.
To answer my own post, we are both keeping our health insurance since it's cheaper that way but I was wondering if there are benefits to being on the same plan, especially when we start having kids.
i think we will keep our own..its cheaper that way
if you have flex spending and you ended up going on your FH then you can get the flex spending money back. I think some employers do that.

As of now fh has better health insurance so I'll switch to his.
I'm currently on my parent's plan, and school insurance (which is crappy). Once I'm married i can no longer be on my parent's plan, so I will switch to FH's for one year until I graduate. After I start working full time he will probably switch to mine, because law firms usually have pretty good policies.
Well, since I won't be starting my job until September, I'll probably go on FH's plan... We'll see.

i switched to his. the out of pocket costs for us each to have our own insurance was more than him adding me to his policy. now my co-pay is less $$, as are prescriptions.
The reason I'm switching to his is b/c I have student health insurance now which will expire when I graduate in May, and I heard its very difficult to get health insurance in my career field, so it's just easier.
He's going to switch to mine. He works on commission, so he has to pay a ton for his insurance.
we're both under mine right now (domestic partners) since his job doesn't offer it. we'll be keeping it as is after the wedding.

not sure yet...but it would be cheaper for him to come on mine than me go on his.....but we might just keep our own,,,,,
We haven't decided yet. FH pays less into his plan than I do, but I am not crazy about he health insurance he currently has. The other plan offered is more money a month, but we are not sure if it would still be less than mine. I tend to think so, but we still have to double check. More than likely I will go on his b/c it is less to pay into than mine.
FH is a teacher so he has great benefits, I'll be under his.
