it's not so much that i'm old fashioned, but my parents kind of are so yeah we're waiting to live together

well we're still on the hunt for a house...it's really hard because fh is being extremely picky where at this point i'll just take anything but he says we should be choosy about a house b/c it's a great market to buy
sooooo what we'll probably do is get our house situated and fh will prob stay there a few weeks before me and then i'll just put myself there after the wedding...what about u? do u have a place already?

FH's parents are giving us an apt (though FH says he wants to give them some rent). FH wants to rip up a lot of the apt and make it nice and new, so we r prob gonna start in the next 2 months and have it done for when we r married. We will be moving items in slowly we already started moving in our wedding gifts

We started living together after like 6 months! Ha Once I closed on my apartment he went from sleeping over 4 nights a week...to 5 nights...to 6....to 'why not just officially move in?' He had already been renting out his co op, so it worked out perfectly.. Sooo we aren't old fashioned-at all!
However I'm 29 (30 next month) and fh is 33, so we're a bit older than the majority of the 09 couples on the boards. If we were like 24 and 28 I don't necessarily think it would have been like this, we probably would have waited then. Years ago we each lived with our ex's, so what works is that we both came into this with experience of how to live with someone.
I do think its quite romantic either way, wether you live with them first or not.

Yup!!!! We are going to start house hunting in the next few months but we are def waiting until we are married to live together

I am!!! We bought a house but he lives in it. Sometimes I hate it, but most of the time I think its the right move.

We don't live together - we're house hunting like crazy right now and as much as it ***** being apart we're excited to finally live together

We won't be living together until after we are married. It kind of s ucks now but I just think it will really make it traditional and so exciting once we are married.

We aren't but I think its so romantic that you are waiting
FH works nights and I work days, so that was the first reason we decided to move in beforehand.
The other reason was that FH believed it was important to sort of get the roommate kinks out of our relationship (i.e. i cant sleep with the t.v. on and he cant sleep without it!) before we combined finances etc.
I think its definitely important to do whatever makes you both feel happy and secure

FH and I have been living together for about 8 years now. It was the right thing for us but I can understand how others might want to wait.

sort of....we will be moving in together in two months officially...i actually preferred it this way of waiting until we were married or close to wedding to live together..it worked for us

i am ! Yesterday we were talking again about looking at houses and Im like Im not moving in until November 7th!
