Why am I not married yet?

Hi everyone I am new to the site. I just got engaged on 7/3/05 and my FH and I are planning a 7/07 wedding but we have been together for 5 1/2 years so I am with all of you, but I think it is best to wait 2 years for me b/c I want to have time to plan, I feel very anxious though to get everything done early, does anyone else feel the same?

I definitely feel the same way as you!! I have the Hall, DJ and Photgrapher booked already, and I'm like what's next?? FH tells me to relax.... So I'm trying to do that and enjoy the summer. I'll start booking more things in the fall!

You will not relax!!! I keep hearing that from my FH and we haven't even booked yet. It is not in a Bride's nature to be relaxed.

I just got engaged in May, but I feel like I have been engaged for years, my FI and I have been dating for 5 years and started taking about marriage about 2-3 years ago. My best friend is getting married this August, and I'm so excited for her, but this just makes me want to get married now even more! We need to save money too, so we can't really get married sooner than 2007, plus we are young still (23 and 24) but I have a feeling these next two years are going to be looong.

Not to butt in on your board 07'ers! lol but I know EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL!! We were 22 & 21(almost 22) when we got engaged and we jsut got married this past november. we watied 2 years and it was hard because all our friends got married before us, BUT i will tell you that 2 years came and went!!!! I PROMISE!! HANG IN THERE!!!!

After I got engaged (all of 2+ months ago) I was told I should be able to pull it together in less than a year because we were together so long. I was going to do it in May '06 but pushed it to Sep '06 because I felt like I needed over a year. My advice is to enjoy all the extra planning time you have.

Don't worry girls the time will fly. I got engaged almost 9 months ago and the time has just flown. I can't believe i have less than a year and a half to go now. Take the time to relax and plan at your own pace.

9 months...I've been engaged TWICE that long

I have been together with FH for 4 1/2 years. We have been engaged for over a year and actually set our date on the one year anniversary of our engagement. We are getting married in December 2006. It definetely feels at times like time is dragging, but my life is so busy with work that I need all the time to plan! I would rather take more time to plan my wedding than to have regrets on my day because I didn't have enough time to plan. I will be engaged for 2 1/2 years before we finally get married
